Nix PR6000490 Lice Treatment Kit with 4 fl oz Shampoo and 6 fl oz Spray

When lice are found, this kit brings a treatment shampoo, a removal comb, and a daily leave-in prevention spray together for the next steps at home. The shampoo is intended to treat lice and eggs, while the spray serves a different role: it is a deterrent for ongoing use, not a treatment for an active infestation.

That combination suits households looking for both an immediate treatment step and a separate prevention product, rather than a shampoo alone.

The shampoo is described as killing lice and eggs, including superlice, and as suitable for children 1 year and older. The included comb is intended to help remove lice and eggs after treatment. The spray is designed for daily use on clean hair, it is intended to deter lice and does not kill lice or eggs or treat an infestation. If lice are present, the product directions identify the shampoo as the treatment step.

Best use cases

This kit is most relevant when a household needs to address an active lice problem and wants a prevention spray for use afterward. It combines separate products for those two needs, unlike a treatment-only purchase. For a household seeking only a daily deterrent, the shampoo and comb may be more than needed, for an active infestation, the spray alone is not a substitute for treatment.

You’ll appreciate it if you want the treatment and follow-up prevention products in one kit, with a comb included for the removal step. It’s not for you if you expect the leave-in spray by itself to clear existing lice or eggs. The shampoo is stated to take 10 minutes, but the available product information does not establish that every infestation will respond the same way.

Buyer feedback is mixed on effectiveness: some describe good results, while others say the treatment did not clear all the lice. Ease of use is a more consistent positive, including comments that combing feels easier. Reports on the spray’s scent also differ, with some liking it and others finding it strong. These are individual impressions, not a guarantee of results or scent preference.

What’s included

The kit contains a 4 fl oz Nix Ultra All-in-One shampoo, a lice removal comb, and a 6 fl oz Nix Lice Prevention Daily Leave-In Spray. The shampoo and comb serve the treatment and removal steps, the spray is for daily deterrence after hair is clean. This distinction matters when choosing between a combined kit and a single-purpose product.

Before you decide

How long is the shampoo treatment step? The product states that the shampoo treats and cleanses hair in 10 minutes. Follow the package directions for application.

Does the prevention spray treat an active infestation? No. It is described as a deterrent and does not kill lice or eggs or treat an infestation, the shampoo is the treatment product in this kit.

What age is the shampoo intended for? The product description states that the shampoo is for children 1 year and older. The spray is described as suitable for kids and adults, use both products as directed.

Is it worth it?

This kit makes the most sense when you want a treatment product, a comb, and a separate prevention spray in the same purchase. Its practical advantage is having both treatment and deterrence covered without confusing their roles. If you need only one of those steps, a single-purpose product may better match your needs. Mixed buyer reports on effectiveness and scent are worth weighing, particularly if you are choosing the kit in expectation of a specific result or fragrance.
