## Description

## What to know
Some households need to limit access to a room while still keeping a door slightly open. The NestGuard Child Proof Door Lock uses an adjustable strap and latch to help control that opening, making it useful around curious toddlers and pets. Its adhesive-backed, no-drill design attaches to a door and frame without requiring tools, and the rotating base lets you position the latch for the installation.

The strap is made from stainless steel, and its length can be adjusted to suit the setup. The product measures 10 x 2.5 x 0.6 inches and weighs 1.5 ounces. Buyers describe the lock as easy to use, while feedback on adhesive strength and durability is mixed, some also report paint lifting during removal.

## Best use cases
Use the adjustable latch where you want to restrict a child’s access without necessarily keeping a door fully closed. The opening can be set to leave room for a pet to pass while limiting entry to areas such as a litter box room or storage space. That makes the controlled gap a practical feature for households balancing child access and everyday pet movement.

The lock is described for bifold, sliding, pocket, and double doors, as well as windows. For installation, peel off the adhesive backing and press the adhesive area firmly for a few seconds. It is designed for application without drilling or tools, do not install it on drywall or wallpaper. How much access do you want to allow? The adjustable strap gives you a way to set the opening to suit the room and household routine.

## Who it’s for
It suits you if you’re looking for a simple way to discourage a newly crawling baby or curious toddler from entering selected rooms, while retaining control over how far a door opens. It can also suit homes where pets need to move between spaces without leaving a wider opening for a child. The rotating base offers added positioning flexibility when fitting the latch to a suitable door or window surface.

Compared with an approach that keeps a doorway completely shut, this latch is designed for situations where a limited opening is useful. Its adhesive installation also avoids drilling, which can be helpful when you want a tool-free setup. Follow the surface guidance during installation, and take care when removing adhesive, since some buyers report paint lifting.

## Practical questions
**How is the lock installed?** Peel away the adhesive backing, position the components on the door and frame or other suitable surface, then press the adhesive area firmly for a few seconds. No drilling or tools are required. Do not apply it to drywall or wallpaper.

**Can a pet pass through while a child is kept out?** The adjustable latch lets you control the opening width, including setting a gap intended to let pets pass while restricting a baby’s access to the area.

**What types of doors is it designed for?** It is listed for bifold, sliding, pocket, and double doors, as well as windows. The rotating base helps you position the latch for the setup.

## When it makes sense
Choose the NestGuard when your priority is a child-safety latch that combines an adjustable opening with a no-drill adhesive setup. Its stainless steel strap, rotating base, and gap control serve households that want to manage access to specific rooms while accommodating a pet’s movement. For everyday use around a restricted doorway, it offers a practical way to set the opening to match the space and your family’s needs.
