## Description

Some aquarium owners want a simple light they can switch on and off themselves, others prefer scheduled lighting and more control over color and brightness. The NEOAQLUX ASKXW is aimed at the latter, combining a 24/7 sunrise-to-moonlight cycle with timer and manual adjustment options for freshwater tanks listed at 12–18 inches.

Its extendable brackets are intended to fit that tank range, while the light offers full spectrum, 12 colors, and gradient mode. The listed output is 12 watts, and the light has 60 LED sources.

## Getting the most from it

The default cycle moves through sunrise, daylight, sunset, and moonlight, with an option to start the cycle at a chosen time. For a more fixed schedule, five timer settings run from 4H to 12H and include automatic on/off. Brightness has nine settings, listed from 20% to 100%, and a memory function is described as restoring the last setting when power returns. These controls give you alternatives to a basic light with only a single brightness and manual switch.

In a practical setup, the cycle can provide a changing day-and-night lighting routine while you use the color and brightness controls to choose the appearance you want in the tank. The product is described as IP68 waterproof and intended for freshwater use, the included components are the lamp body, two brackets, a power adapter, and a user manual. The stated one-year warranty is another detail to weigh when comparing options.

## Pros

The main appeal is choice: full-spectrum lighting, 12 color options, gradient effects, a daily cycle, and separate timer and brightness controls are grouped in one fixture. It’s a great fit if you want programmable lighting for a freshwater aquarium in the stated size range rather than a basic light with fewer adjustment options. If you prioritize tailoring the look of the tank, the color modes and nine brightness levels add flexibility without changing the mounting approach.

Buyer feedback is positive about brightness, color selection, and the timer and adjustment functions. Stability feedback is mixed, however: some buyers report that the light sags in the middle. That concern is worth considering when deciding how the fixture will sit across your aquarium. The listed specifications do not provide plant-specific light measurements, so the product details alone do not establish whether it suits a particular plant’s lighting needs.

How much control do you need from an aquarium light? If scheduling and selectable colors matter more than keeping the setup minimal, the range of modes is a meaningful advantage, if you only need a straightforward on/off light, several of these features may be unnecessary.

The light is described as having extendable brackets and a clear panel, with a heat-resistant ABS housing. The adapter is described as ETL-certified. These details help identify the setup, but they do not replace checking that the tank falls within the stated size range and that the mounting arrangement suits its top.

## Buying verdict

The ASKXW makes the most sense for someone who wants scheduled day-to-night lighting, multiple color choices, and adjustable brightness in one freshwater aquarium fixture. Its 12–18-inch fit, 12-watt output, included brackets, and automatic modes give a clear basis for comparing it with simpler lights. It might not be a great match if the reported sagging would be a concern for your mounting setup, or if you need documented plant-specific light performance that the supplied specifications do not give.
