## Description

A two-microphone wired lavalier set, the NEEWER CM5 is designed for hands-free voice capture with a 3.5mm TRS connection. Each mic has a 3.9ft cord and a clip for attaching it to clothing, making the pair relevant for presentations, interviews, vlogging, and other situations where speakers need to move without holding a microphone.

The set favors a simple wired connection over a standalone wireless mic. It includes two lav mics, two tie clips, and two foam windscreens, no batteries are needed.

## Pros

Having two mics can be useful when recording two speakers or keeping a spare ready, rather than passing one mic between people. The omnidirectional condenser design is intended to pick up voices from around the mic, while the clothing clip allows hands-free use. For a talk, lesson, or on-camera segment, each speaker can wear a mic and connect it to compatible equipment.

Buyer feedback is positive about voice clarity and sound quality. Compatibility reports are more mixed: some buyers say the mics work with DJI Mic 2, while others report trouble with Android phones. Some also describe the mics as larger than expected, so anyone prioritizing a very discreet appearance may want to consider that feedback.

## The essentials

Each microphone uses a 3.5mm TRS plug and a 3.9ft cord. The listing names compatibility with Rode Wireless GO II, DJI wireless mic transmitters, and NEEWER CM28/CM31 systems, as well as devices with a 3.5mm TRS jack. It specifically excludes Sony microphone systems. For a phone without the required jack, a separate adapter from 3.5mm female to USB-C or another connector is needed, the adapter is not included.

The package contains two wired lavalier microphones, two tie clips, and two foam windscreens. The mics do not require batteries. That makes them a practical fit when a corded connection suits the recording setup, a buyer who needs wireless operation without a transmitter or cable should look at a different type of microphone system.

## How to use it

Clip a mic to the speaker’s clothing, then connect its 3.5mm TRS plug to compatible recording equipment or a supported wireless transmitter. The included foam windscreen can be fitted over the mic. For a phone or camera that lacks a 3.5mm TRS input, the appropriate adapter must be purchased separately. It suits you if your setup has the right connection and you want two wearable mics for a presentation, stream, or interview. It might not be a great match if you use a Sony microphone system, which is listed as incompatible.

## Questions before you buy

**Does it connect directly to every smartphone?** No. It needs a compatible 3.5mm TRS input, a separate adapter is required for devices using USB-C or another connector.

**Are two microphones included?** Yes. The set includes two wired lavalier microphones, along with two tie clips and two foam windscreens.

**Will it work with a Sony microphone system?** The listing says it is not compatible with Sony microphone systems.

## Should you buy it?

Choose the CM5 if you need a pair of wired lavalier mics for compatible 3.5mm equipment or the named transmitter systems, and value having a mic for each of two speakers. The corded setup avoids batteries in the microphones, but the connection requirements matter: phone users may need an adapter, and Sony system owners should choose another compatible option. If a less visible mic is a priority, take the mixed buyer comments about size into account.
