Mordem Area Rug, 5' x 7

If you want a softer landing underfoot, a low-pile rug is easier to fit around furniture than a thicker, plusher style. This Mordem rug pairs that practical profile with a vintage floral, bohemian look.

Its black 5' x 7' size is intended for living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, nurseries, and offices. Think about the floor area and furniture layout before choosing a spot.

If you prioritize easy routine cleaning and a rug that sits low under furniture, this setup may suit you, if you prefer a deep, cushioned pile, look for a different style.

Getting the most from it

The 0.32-inch low pile is designed to sit under furniture and in busier areas without the bulk of a shag rug. The listing also says robot vacuums can move across it, and that pet hair is less likely to collect in the pile. That makes it worth considering for a room where chairs, a coffee table, or regular foot traffic need to coexist with the rug.

For example, you could place it beneath a living-room seating area, then run a vacuum on low suction to pick up everyday dust. Its rubber backing is intended to help keep the rug from shifting, though the listing does not establish that it will grip every floor surface equally. From the way it is set up, the emphasis is on a manageable, washable floor covering rather than a thick cushion.

The rug may arrive with creases. The product information says they should ease after a few days of use, folding it in the opposite direction or placing a heavy object on it is suggested to smooth it sooner.

Why it’s worth it

High-density polyester fibers give the rug a soft feel underfoot, while the black vintage floral and bohemian pattern can add visual warmth without relying on a high pile. It is listed as stain resistant and machine washable, a useful combination for rooms where spills or daily messes are part of life. For spot cleaning, the care guidance recommends vacuuming or wiping with a cloth.

Worth considering if you want a patterned rug that can be washed rather than one that depends on professional cleaning. The care instructions specify cold water and either low-heat tumble drying or air drying. Before relying on machine washing, check that your washer can accommodate a rug of this size, no washer capacity is provided. It’s not for you if a thick, plush feel is the main reason you’re buying a rug.

Key features

• Size and color: 5' x 7', black.
• Material and feel: High-density polyester fibers with a soft feel underfoot.
• Pile: Low pile, listed at 0.32 inches.
• Backing: Rubber backing designed to reduce sliding.
• Care: Machine washable, the instructions call for cold water and low-heat tumble drying or air drying.
• Style and rooms: Vintage floral, bohemian look for living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, nurseries, or offices.

These details favor everyday practicality over plushness. The backing may help the rug stay in place, but it is still sensible to check how it sits on your particular floor, especially in a busy walkway.

Buying verdict

This rug makes the most sense if you need a defined 5' x 7' area, want a low profile under furniture, and value the option of machine washing. Its polyester surface, patterned black design, and rubber backing address common household needs without adding a thick pile that can interfere with furniture placement.

The trade-off is comfort: low pile is easier to fit into a room, but it will not provide the cushioned feel of a deeper rug. Confirm the dimensions against your room and furniture, and make sure your washer can handle the size before choosing it. If those checks fit your setup, it offers a practical way to add pattern and a softer surface, if plush cushioning is the priority, a thicker rug is a better direction.
