## Description

## Practical tips
The open-cup design gives babies a chance to practice sipping from a rim as they begin learning to drink independently. At 2 oz, the Moonkie cup holds a small serving that’s easy to offer during a meal or snack. Its compact shape is designed for little hands, and the inner measurement lines help you portion liquid. What makes an open cup useful at this stage? It lets a child practice the direct sipping motion rather than drinking through a spout.

For everyday use, place it within reach during a seated mealtime and offer a small amount for practice. The silicone body is soft, and the non-slip design and wide, weighted base help the cup stay steady on a surface. The cup is dishwasher safe, making cleanup straightforward after meals.

## Strengths
This infant training cup pairs a simple open rim with details suited to early cup practice. Its 2 oz capacity keeps servings small, while the ergonomic shape is designed for tiny hands. Inner measurement lines offer a helpful visual guide when pouring, and the confetti-sprinkle pattern adds a playful touch to the table. Made from silicone, the cup is reusable and dishwasher safe. The listed material is BPA-, lead-, PVC-, and phthalate-free.

Buyers often praise the compact size, appearance, and durability, describing it as appealing for little hands learning to drink. Feedback on spill control is mixed: some find it works well, while others report spills. As an open cup, it’s suited to supervised sipping practice rather than carrying liquid around like a sealed bottle. Compared with a lidded or spouted training cup, its main distinction is the open rim and the opportunity to practice drinking directly from a cup.

## What matters most
The cup measures 2.17 inches wide by 3.38 inches high and holds 2 oz. Its cylindrical cup body, non-slip feature, and weighted square base are designed to support steadier placement during mealtime. The soft silicone material is gentle against gums and new teeth, while the straightforward shape is easy to handle and clean. The product name identifies it for ages 4 months and up, and its listed recommended use is at home.

It suits you if you’re looking for a small open cup to introduce alongside a baby’s transition from breastfeeding or bottle-feeding. It can also fit into baby-led weaning meals, where a child can practice holding a cup and taking small sips with an adult nearby. Choose it for hands-on open-cup practice, choose a lidded format when the priority is transporting a drink without spills.

## Practical questions
**How much liquid does the cup hold?** It holds 2 oz, with inner measurement lines to help guide portions.

**How should I clean it?** The cup is dishwasher safe, so it can be cleaned in the dishwasher after use.

**What is it designed to help babies practice?** Its open rim supports learning to sip directly from a cup and encourages self-feeding and coordination during the transition to independent drinking.

## Buying verdict
The Moonkie DX-2501 is a practical choice for families introducing open-cup skills at home. Its small 2 oz capacity, child-sized shape, measurement lines, and dishwasher-safe silicone make it well suited to short, supervised practice during everyday meals.
