## Description

Guitarists who need to layer parts over a loop and add drum backing can use the MOOER GL100 as both a looper and a drum machine. It offers 100 memory slots, 300 minutes of total recording time, and 220 drum patterns, giving practice sessions and songwriting ideas a built-in rhythm foundation.

A touchscreen, dual footswitches, and automatic recording are intended to make hands-on control more direct. How useful is that combination in a compact pedal? It depends on whether you want rhythm tools and looping in one unit rather than a simpler looper by itself.

## Tips for day-to-day use

Auto Rec can start recording when it detects an input signal, while Count-In provides a one-bar lead-in based on the selected BPM and time signature. End Sync is designed to trim loop endings to a half bar, which can help keep repeated phrases from dragging or rushing. DrumMatch analyzes your playing and matches a groove and BPM in about eight seconds, so you can start with a rhythm without setting everything manually.

For a practical setup, record a chord progression, add a lead part with overdubbing, and use the drum machine as a timing reference. The GL100 also supports stereo or mixed input settings and offers a split drum output, useful when you want the drum machine and loop signal routed separately. Check the input setting against your mono or stereo setup, the manufacturer describes different settings for those connection scenarios.

## What stands out

The feature set goes beyond basic record-and-play looping. There are 11 rhythm styles with 20 patterns each, plus time stretch that changes playback speed without changing pitch. Dual footswitches handle functions such as record, play, overdub, undo, redo, drum on/off, and clearing a loop. MOOER Studio adds preview, import and export, and batch file management, exported loops use WAV format.

Buyer feedback is positive about the drum sounds and the range of patterns, while reports on the interface and display are mixed: some appreciate the controls and screen, and others find the display hard to read. Feedback on reliability also varies, with some buyers reporting units that stopped working after a few weeks. That uncertainty is worth weighing if dependable long-term use is a priority. A solid pick if you want looping and drum accompaniment in one pedal, It may not suit you if you need confidence in durability beyond what the available information can establish.

## Quick overview

- Type: Looper pedal and drum machine

Compared with a basic looper that only records and repeats audio, the GL100 adds drum patterns, automatic recording tools, and software-based file management. Those extras are most relevant if you want one pedal to support both practice and building layered ideas. A separate, simpler looper may make more sense if you only need to capture and replay phrases.

## Before you decide

**Can it handle both looping and drum patterns?** Yes. The GL100 combines those functions, and its footswitches include controls for the looper and drum machine.

**Can I connect stereo gear?** The manufacturer lists two 1/4-inch mono inputs and two 1/4-inch mono outputs. It also describes stereo and mixed input settings, plus a headphone jack.

**What can MOOER Studio do?** The software supports previewing, importing and exporting, and batch management. It can import several audio formats, including WAV, FLAC, MP3, and M4A, and export WAV files.

## Is it worth it?

The GL100 is most compelling when you will use its drum machine alongside its looper: the pattern selection, DrumMatch, auto-record tools, and 300-minute total recording capacity give it a broader role than a straightforward looping pedal. Its key trade-off is that buyer reports on reliability and screen readability are not consistent. If those concerns matter more than having integrated rhythm features, compare it with a simpler looper or a setup using separate drum and looping devices before choosing.
