A more involved recording chain may make sense for users who need more routing options. The Marantz Professional MPM-1000U is a USB condenser microphone for voice chat, streaming, podcasts, and other computer-based recording. It connects to PC and Mac systems. Its cardioid, unidirectional pickup pattern and included USB cable and mic clip make it a straightforward starting point for a single-microphone setup. ## Benefits The MPM-1000U is designed to connect over USB without drivers or phantom power, so setup does not require a separate interface. That can be useful for a gaming desk or home recording space where a simple connection matters more than building a larger audio system. The microphone records at 48 kHz / 16-bit, according to the supplied product details. Its cardioid pattern is intended to focus pickup in one direction and reduce unwanted sound from elsewhere. That makes it relevant for talking into the mic during a stream, voice chat, or podcast recording, though it should not be treated as a guarantee of a noise-free room. The large-diaphragm form factor and aluminum enclosure are other notable details for shoppers comparing basic USB microphones. The included mic clip and USB cable cover two parts of setup. Buyers do not need to source a separate audio interface for the described USB recording use. The microphone is also listed as compatible with PC and Mac, with software examples including OBS, Audacity, GarageBand, and Logic. ## What to know This is a USB microphone built around a one-channel recording setup. Its core appeal is simplicity: connect it to a computer and use it for voice-focused recording, rather than assembling a more elaborate system with separate interface hardware. The listed frequency range is 20 Hz–17 kHz, and the stated signal-to-noise ratio is 78 dB. The included components are the microphone, USB cable, and mic clip. The product details also describe a desktop stand, but it is not among the listed included components, so the clip and cable are the dependable items to plan around. Check how the mic will be mounted in your setup before assuming other positioning hardware is included. Buyer feedback is positive about sound and performance overall, with some describing clear pickup for video and voice use. Noise opinions are mixed: some buyers appreciate the noise floor, while others mention echo or clicking. Those are individual reports rather than a guaranteed outcome, and the room, placement, and surrounding noise can affect a recording. ## Everyday use For a stream or call, place the microphone near the speaking position, connect it to the computer by USB, and select it in the recording or chat software. For a podcast or video voice track, the same direct setup avoids adding an interface to the workflow. The unidirectional pattern supports a focused speaking position, so it is worth keeping the mic aimed toward the speaker rather than expecting it to capture a whole room evenly. The 1.2-pound weight and listed dimensions of 1.96 x 1.96 x 6.3 inches may help when planning desk space or transport. The product information specifies an aluminum enclosure, but does not give detailed care instructions, keeping the mic and cable organized between sessions is a practical way to avoid unnecessary strain on the connection. ## When it makes sense A solid pick if the priority is a single USB mic for computer-based voice work, with a cable and clip included and no separate audio interface required for the described setup. It fits common creator uses such as streaming, voice chat, and podcast recording without asking the buyer to assemble a larger system first. It might not be a great match if the intended setup depends on a more complex recording chain or multiple channels: the listed configuration is USB and one channel. For straightforward computer voice capture, that focus keeps the setup simple, for more routing flexibility, compare the requirements of an interface-based system before choosing. ## Images ![Marantz Professional MPM-1000U USB Condenser Microphone with Cardioid Pickup — 1](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/n4twEbWpxAaxQygwlJyRJxcDtOxZq-_YTA7FjqF1LFncwY920bRv1Yq-Lv4hOwE7E1hyxdQgA1UKDzYZpivlqcLkGzklnXtsxuApOfih-Q6LicszsTdhiKO8tA.jpg) ![Marantz Professional MPM-1000U USB Condenser Microphone with Cardioid Pickup — 2](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/h9gpsTTBklEjvs3RmAqxOIrh09j59QrFwpRlmnJ5AU6kYEx8yjcV6OiwvYVS7Y-PT_kw-Cj7K3TmO53G0P_2nMWzdUxG24CQTi_kDPKIB1gIdNxKLYxBkojZZA.jpg) ![Marantz Professional MPM-1000U USB Condenser Microphone with Cardioid Pickup — 3](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/LPqs_ZqejHAiFpRjHZyGdAQPjWku8OTJvFJNMKWaTUH9_udDZ3YzSb_abgIGMUm8XhIqYDHamDs-kiLNM3WN4H1mCxZtbF64PeTMqD336LysjAmyDZr-iZb7yg.jpg) ![Marantz Professional MPM-1000U USB Condenser Microphone with Cardioid Pickup — 4](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/Szje1nSRU0aDixnhZvyVH3XvR6Qy6hS5awIEb08QVoMBvhkSOY_rS4qsubrMSRiDt4gV94b-OODN3ZTrwxNGyVBOXVebyGqAEUbHClSrqt276QcGsmoAk1ICJA.jpg) ![Marantz Professional MPM-1000U USB Condenser Microphone with Cardioid Pickup — 5](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/ZeF19pRy2YZZb1BjxmwgD-9ST-znSL_Q8DOgXYcyHFIQHvLhiBzwtCUoirHsu4RC660UrF6ULqm-5913WwQGXfjLEb5BdNwQyC6Gy6dFk5tQBDkVj7bUE5lAdA.jpg)
