It uses a next-generation optical HERO sensor and LIGHTSPEED wireless tech to aim for precise, responsive performance without the tether of a cable. If you’re chasing a low-profile, travel-friendly mouse that can hold up in competitive play or long sessions, this model is designed with that in mind. ## How it performs on paper On the sensor side, the HERO sensor claims up to 12,000 DPI with up to 400 IPS tracking. The wireless connection features a 1 ms report rate, which translates to quick, nearly instant on-screen responses in fast-paced games. Power efficiency is a highlight here: the mouse runs on a single AA battery and, in standard mode, Logitech’s endurance approach can extend playtime up to 9 months. A faster, endurance-conscious mode is accessible via Logitech G HUB for longer sessions without frequent battery changes. ## What stands out in day-to-day use Weighing around 3.4 oz, the G305 prioritizes maneuverability and portability. Its compact form is designed to fit a range of hand sizes and grip styles without feeling bulky, making it a practical travel companion for gaming laptops or desktop rigs. The built-in nano receiver storage adds convenience, so you don’t have to chase the dongle when you’re on the go. ## Pros and potential drawbacks Pros: lightweight design, solid wireless responsiveness, long battery life in endurance-friendly setups, compact footprint, reliable nano receiver storage. Cons: the 1 AA battery setup means you’re dependent on a replaceable power source rather than a rechargeable pack, and some users may prefer a wider chassis for larger hands or a more pronounced palm grip. ## Who it’s for and who should think twice This mouse is well-suited for players who want a cable-free experience with good battery life and a simple, portable design. It’s a sensible pick if you prioritize travel convenience and a low-profile form factor. However, if you have larger hands or prefer a bigger, chunkier grip for long sessions, you might find the G305’s compact dimensions less comfortable over time. ## What to check before you buy - Confirm that you’re comfortable with a single AA battery and the option to run in Endurance mode to maximize runtime. - Consider your grip style and hand size to judge if the 3.4 oz form factor suits you. - If possible, test how the 12,000 DPI range feels in your typical games and whether you need all that sensitivity. ## How it compares to the alternatives in your setup For a wireless gaming mouse focused on portability and efficiency, the G305 sits closer to the entry-to-mid range in terms of feature set. It trades some heavier-duty comfort features and higher-end chassis options for light weight and long battery life. If you value a larger body, rechargeable batteries, or more buttons, you might explore other designs that balance those traits with wireless performance. ## Practical use case Imagine gaming on a laptop in a cozy coffee shop: you pop the G305 into Endurance mode to stretch battery life, tuck the nano receiver into your sleeve, and you’re ready to play without hunting for a charger. The setup stays light, and you still get precise tracking when you’re threading through fast skirmishes. ## FAQ (based on available data) - How long does the battery last in standard mode? Up to 9 months with 1 AA battery, depending on usage. - Is this mouse suitable for larger hands? Its lightweight, compact design favors smaller-to-average hand sizes, larger hands may feel cramped. - Can you use it wired? The product is described as wireless with LIGHTSPEED, there is no mention of a wired mode in the available data. ## Decision point ### Is it worth it? Worth considering if you want a lightweight, portable wireless mouse with strong battery life and reliable performance for on-the-go gaming. It may not be the best fit if you need a larger grip or a rechargeable battery solution. If you prioritize travel-friendly design and solid wireless response, the G305 makes sense to test in your typical play scenarios. ## Images ![Logitech G305 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse - Black — 1](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/M_UqAiaIRlMSKn616Wigs1a9OlyPv1kHaHsbwPZzdnx5psRsOnmHhXwGHoThNWVEQxsQe11LcQ5pX3XMIYE_oSpTWa2CDUj8U3qqTmiDAlChzfnjAtkdEoaflw.jpg) ![Logitech G305 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse - Black — 2](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/fuiszle7SdcSFt_KreDj5Bfa5xVzFz0t4cuEMDVeNMHLdaRXUbESqj5RT5NMNCyO-dh4xT_vIRaRSxDu41fzmUYQTwjrURxf5rXptDhV8ypMYcm-283o72-Exw.jpg) ![Logitech G305 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse - Black — 3](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/HJtP1y_fVv5MJuXh8Avg1F2ygnGVtCCESqYxqXqkOoLX0TA1UNvBHzMfLbwyhCjUodLv3BpipvMjItgNGoTuXumGqYgg7ffnEGexh5wpLikNKMHJKhpbKTKRuw.jpg) ![Logitech G305 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse - Black — 4](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/whso-rBfHNqku5wL_VIdRqOwiRkP3DPdxIbyPGiCx7uj8psDXnn8sXioE8apTh1VRiGKOcXW-rLsmzv31Z7cC9Aw8B6khuzfOI_ZJn78Abr3Tm9vCLt6acSLOA.jpg) ![Logitech G305 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse - Black — 5](https://www.ofertitastop.com/i/H82M5ujMK2Oyy54ZNXjsofMW--N9GZUUMLVYdTN_MDm6es3nzoG-lmcCDdow9fCiFcFHUgyYcXY78kIbaL0Bxm-deWj0cJpSO3VtFmJDGG2BsYFVOkFPieE4oA.jpg)
