## Description

For a PC gaming setup where you want to keep the desk clear of a mouse cable, the Logitech G305 combines LIGHTSPEED wireless with a HERO optical sensor. It offers sensitivity up to 12,000 DPI and six programmable buttons. Its white finish and compact design also make it easy to move between a gaming desk and a laptop setup.

## Key features

The G305 is built around wireless gaming rather than the simpler feature set of a basic office mouse. Logitech lists a 1 ms response time for its LIGHTSPEED connection, while the optical sensor supports up to 12,000 DPI. Those figures describe the available technology, whether they suit your play depends on your preferred sensitivity and games. What matters more to your setup: a fast wireless connection or a cable-free desk? This model puts the emphasis on wireless use without leaving out customizable controls.

Six programmable buttons allow settings and commands to be assigned through Logitech software. That can be useful if you want frequently used actions close at hand, though the mouse’s usefulness will depend on how much you rely on custom controls. The manufacturer states up to 250 hours of battery life, so it is designed for extended use between battery changes. The package listing names the mouse and a user guide, it does not list a separate charging cable.

## Getting the most from it

The G305 is listed as compatible with PC and Mac, with Windows and macOS named in the specifications. Its ambidextrous orientation may suit users who prefer a symmetrical shape, and the wireless receiver has built-in storage in the mouse for easier transport. That is handy when moving it between a home desk and a laptop, since the receiver has a place to go when not in use.

Buyers describe the mouse as comfortable and appreciate its battery life and usefulness for both gaming and work. Feedback is less consistent on responsiveness and durability: some report smooth operation, while others mention stuttering or early failures. A recurring criticism concerns double-clicking or problems with a mouse button. These are reported experiences, not a guarantee that every unit will have the same issue, but they are worth weighing if dependable button behavior is a priority.

## Usage tips

Use the included wireless receiver and store it in the mouse when packing the G305 away. If you want to make use of the six programmable buttons, Logitech G HUB can be used to adjust DPI settings and button assignments, according to the manufacturer. Begin with a sensitivity setting that feels controlled in your usual games, then adjust it to suit your play rather than assuming the maximum DPI is the best setting for every situation.

The product information states up to 250 hours of use on one battery, but does not promise the same runtime for every usage pattern. Keep a spare battery available if interruption-free sessions matter to you. The listed package contents are limited to the mouse and user guide, so the listing does not indicate additional accessories beyond those items.

## Buying verdict

It’s a great fit if you want a wireless gaming mouse with six customizable buttons, a high maximum DPI setting, and receiver storage for portability. It can also serve for everyday work, according to buyer feedback, so it need not stay at a gaming desk. Compared with a basic mouse focused on everyday pointing, the G305 offers more gaming-oriented controls and a stated 1 ms wireless response time. It’s not for you if reports of double-clicking or mixed durability feedback would make you uncomfortable, those concerns are present in buyer experiences, even though they do not establish how a particular unit will perform.
