## Description

For work or gaming, the Logitech Alto Keys K98M brings mechanical typing and a number pad to a wireless keyboard with a more compact footprint than a traditional 104-key layout. Its lilac color and transparent top case add a distinctive look to a desk setup.

The UniCushion gasket mount absorbs typing vibrations, while the mechanical Marble switches are designed for smooth, stable keystrokes. Together, these features give everyday typing a tactile feel without making the keyboard’s construction the focus of your workspace.

Connect over Bluetooth Low Energy or with the included Logi Bolt USB receiver. White backlighting helps keep the keys visible in dimmer settings, and USB-C recharging lets you continue typing while the keyboard charges.

## Technical overview

- Layout: 98 keys in a compact 1800-style arrangement, including a number pad
- Switches: Hot-swappable mechanical Marble switches
- Mount: UniCushion full-frame gasket mount that absorbs vibrations
- Backlighting: White, single-color lighting, non-RGB
- Connectivity: Bluetooth Low Energy and Logi Bolt USB receiver
- Charging: USB-C, supports typing while recharging
- Customization: Action Keys can be programmed with the Logi Options+ app
- Materials: Polycarbonate and recycled plastic in the enclosure and keyboard plate
- Color: Lilac

The 98-key arrangement keeps a number pad available for entering figures or working with spreadsheets, while taking up less space than a conventional full-size 104-key keyboard. Its white backlighting and durable keycaps support a practical daily setup, and programmable Action Keys let you assign shortcuts to tasks you use often. The transparent top case and lilac finish also make the keyboard a visually distinctive part of the desk.

## Compatibility & requirements

The Alto Keys K98M is compatible with Windows and macOS computers. Choose Bluetooth Low Energy for a wireless connection or use the included Logi Bolt USB receiver. The keyboard recharges through USB-C, and you can continue typing during charging. For Action Key customization, use the Logi Options+ app to configure shortcuts for your workflow.

Its wireless options suit a desk where keeping cables to a minimum matters, while the receiver provides another connection method for a compatible setup. Rather than choosing a traditional full-size keyboard, which has a wider 104-key layout, this model keeps the number pad in a more compact 98-key design.

## Best use cases

For office work, the number pad is useful when entering figures, and customizable Action Keys can bring frequently used shortcuts within reach. For gaming, the mechanical switches and compact layout offer a tactile keyboard with a number pad, while the wireless connection keeps the setup flexible. The gasket mount’s vibration absorption also supports a more refined typing feel for longer sessions at a desk.

The keyboard’s rechargeable design supports up to 12 months of wireless use with backlighting turned off, actual battery life varies with use and computing conditions. Turn on the white backlighting when you want the keys illuminated, or recharge over USB-C while continuing to type. Customer feedback often highlights the keyboard’s sound, feel, appearance, and wireless connection, opinions on battery life and functionality are mixed.

## Final verdict

Choose the Alto Keys K98M if you want mechanical typing, a number pad, and wireless connectivity in a more compact alternative to a standard full-size layout. Its vibration-absorbing gasket, programmable Action Keys, white backlighting, and lilac finish make it well suited to work or gaming setups where practical controls and a distinctive design both matter.
