Ko-Star M-640S BK USB Condenser Gaming Microphone with Dual Patterns and RGB
Product description
Best use cases
Switchable cardioid and omnidirectional pickup patterns let you adapt this USB condenser microphone to the conversation. Choose cardioid to focus on your voice while gaming, streaming, or recording solo, switch to omnidirectional when several people need to be heard during a meeting or group interview. RGB lighting adds a gaming-focused look, while the desktop stand keeps the mic positioned on your desk.
For a quick gaming setup, connect it to a compatible computer or PlayStation and use the tap-to-mute control when you need privacy. If your priority is recording several voices around a table, the omnidirectional mode offers a more suitable pickup pattern than a mic focused on one speaker.

Why it makes sense
The controls make everyday adjustments straightforward. Tap to mute when you need to step away, and use the LED indicator to check the mic’s status. RGB lighting turns off when the microphone is muted, giving you a visual cue without needing to interrupt a game or call. Gain adjustment helps you set the input level for your voice and surroundings, while the 3.5 mm headphone jack supports real-time monitoring as you speak.
A pop filter helps manage plosive sounds, and the shock mount is designed to reduce the effect of vibration reaching the microphone. The included adjustable stand provides a ready-to-use desktop setup, its 5/8-inch thread also supports mounting on compatible boom arms. Plug-and-play operation means no driver installation is needed for setup. It suits you if you want one mic for both focused solo chat and situations where several people are speaking.
The mic works with PC, laptops, Mac, PS4, and PS5, and is described for use with apps such as Discord, Twitch, OBS, and Zoom. It is not compatible with Xbox, XLR devices, or external sound cards, so choose a direct USB setup for the listed platforms.
Before you decide

Can I hear the microphone while speaking? The 3.5 mm headphone jack provides real-time monitoring. The multifunction control knob also adjusts headphone volume or microphone gain.
What platforms can I use it with? It is compatible with PC, laptops, Mac, PS4, and PS5. It does not support Xbox, XLR devices, or external sound cards.
