## Description

The XL head is 4.5 inches wide, giving you a broad grooming surface for medium- and long-haired pets with thick or double coats. Its two-sided design offers different tooth spacing for detangling and shedding care.

Wide teeth help work through stubborn tangles and mats, while fine teeth lift loose undercoat. Rounded stainless-steel edges and a contoured solid-wood handle make the rake a practical tool for regular home grooming.

Use it on dogs and cats with longer coats, including breeds such as German Shepherds, Huskies, Golden Retrievers, Maine Coons, and Persians. Short, gentle strokes help you work through the coat without forcing the rake through tight mats.

## Key specifications
- Type: Two-sided undercoat rake and dematting comb
- Head width: 4.5 inches
- Teeth: Dual-sided, with 14 and 27 teeth
- Tooth material: Stainless steel
- Handle material: African sapele solid wood
- Coat use: Medium- and long-haired pets, single, double, curly, and wiry coats
- Design: EU-registered

The two tooth patterns serve different grooming tasks in one tool: use the wider teeth to address dense tangles, then the finer side to lift loose undercoat. Compared with a narrow, single-purpose comb, the XL head covers a broader section of coat per stroke. That format suits routine grooming on larger pets as well as brushing across thick coats.

## Compatibility & requirements
This rake is intended for medium- and long-haired dogs and cats, especially pets with dense or double coats. Examples include German Shepherds, Huskies, Great Pyrenees, Bernese Mountain Dogs, Golden Retrievers, Maine Coons, Ragdolls, and Persian cats. It also suits other pets with similar coat types, so the same grooming approach can work across a multi-pet household.

Customers often praise its usefulness for shedding and thick or double coats, along with its sturdy feel and ease of handling. Some also report that their dogs tolerate or enjoy grooming with it. These impressions can help set expectations, while each pet’s response to grooming is individual.

## Tips for day-to-day use
Start at the ends of the coat and use short, gentle strokes in the direction of hair growth. Work through one area at a time, using the wider teeth for tangles and the finer teeth to lift loose undercoat. Keep the motion light rather than pulling the rake through resistance, do not force it through tight mats or use it on irritated or injured skin. Regular, careful passes make it easier to focus on shedding areas without rushing the grooming session.

The solid-wood grip gives you a shaped handle to hold as you move across the coat, while the metal frame and rounded teeth are designed for repeated grooming use. For pets that need both detangling and undercoat care, the reversible head keeps those tasks together in a single rake.

## Buying verdict
Choose the KIZO ESLO XL+ when home grooming calls for a wide rake that can address both mats and loose undercoat in medium- or long-haired coats. Its 4.5-inch head, two tooth patterns, and solid-wood handle make it especially relevant for thick-coated dogs and long-haired cats that benefit from focused, gentle grooming.
