KitchenRaku Stove Cover, 52x78 cm Silicone Cooktop Protector, Checkered & Floral

The silicone cover adds a broad surface over a cool cooktop, helping protect the glass or ceramic surface from everyday dirt and spills. Its 52x78 cm size can also provide extra room for kitchen prep when the stove is not in use. The checkered and floral pattern makes it a visible kitchen accessory rather than a plain protective mat. Could covering the cooktop make better use of that otherwise idle space?

Getting the most from it

Use the cover only when the stovetop is off and cool. The product instructions explicitly warn against placing it on an active stovetop, so its heat resistance does not make it a cooking surface or a way to cover burners during use. The stated limit is up to 400°F, and the mat is also described as suitable for setting hot dishes on, still, follow the off-stove instruction when positioning it over the cooktop.

The large format is intended to help shield a glass or ceramic cooktop from scratches, dirt, and spills while creating a temporary work area. That can be useful when preparing food in a kitchen where counter space is limited, or when you want to keep the surface covered between cooking sessions. The anti-slip feature is intended to help the mat stay in place. It is listed as dishwasher safe and can also be wiped with a damp cloth. The manufacturer notes that folds from packaging may take a few days to disappear.

Why it’s worth it

This cover combines surface protection with a practical second use: a place to set items or work when the cooktop is idle. That gives it a different role from a small trivet, which protects only the area directly beneath a dish, or from leaving the cooktop uncovered and available as a counter surface. The broad coverage is the main reason to choose this format, the pattern and dishwasher-safe construction add convenience without changing the basic rule that the mat must come off before cooking.

It’s a great fit if you want a cover for a compatible glass or ceramic cooktop that can also serve as temporary prep space. The induction-compatibility listing is included in the product details, but the explicit use case centers on covering an inactive surface. If you need a mat to remain on the stove while burners are operating, the stated instructions make this the wrong approach. It might not be a great match if your priority is a compact cover, since this model is specified at 52x78 cm.

Should you buy it?

Choose the KitchenRaku cover if you want a large, patterned silicone mat to protect an unused cooktop and make that area more useful between meals. Its dishwasher-safe design and stated resistance up to 400°F add flexibility for cleanup and setting down hot dishes, while the off-stove warning is an important part of how it should be used. If you are comparing it with a smaller protective pad, the key decision is whether you want broad cooktop coverage and the extra surface area that comes with it.
