KEKOY Grabber Reacher Tool, 44-Inch

What matters most

For people who need extra reach for everyday pickup, yard cleanup, or grabbing items from a high shelf, the KEKOY foldable grabber combines a 44-inch reacher format with a rotating jaw. Its 4-inch-wide claw is designed to handle larger or awkwardly shaped items, while the magnetic tip may help retrieve small metal objects. The head rotates 360 degrees, which can make it easier to approach something behind a cabinet or in a tight corner without twisting your wrist as much.

The aluminum shaft and reinforced hinge are intended for sturdier jobs than a basic, narrow-jaw reacher. Keep in mind that the stated load is 8.5 pounds static but 4 pounds dynamic, so those figures describe different conditions, this is not a tool for lifting heavy items for a senior user. According to the maker, the handle is widened and curved for a more comfortable grip, though that does not establish how it will feel during extended use for every hand.

How to use it

Use the trigger handle to open and close the claw around an item, and rotate the head to line up the jaws with the target. For example, when a can has rolled behind a laundry basket, angle the jaw toward it, grip it gently, and pull it into reach rather than stretching or bending into the gap. The magnetic tip offers another way to pick up small metal pieces, while the claw is the more practical choice for larger objects.

The listed load rating is a limit, not a reason to test the tool with a heavy object. Pick up lighter items steadily, especially when they are wet, bulky, or difficult to grip.

Practical tips

The folding design can make storage easier in a car trunk, pantry, or crowded closet. Before putting it away, fold the shaft and make sure the jaw and handle are positioned so they are not catching on nearby items. If you are choosing between this and a simpler fixed reacher, the folding format and rotating head offer more flexibility for storage and awkward angles, a basic model may be enough for occasional, lightweight pickup.

Try the wide claw on garden debris, pool toys, or a container on a high shelf, but avoid pulling hard against an item that is wedged in place. The 4-inch jaw may suit larger objects better than a narrow claw, yet bulky items can still be hard to grip securely. There are no care instructions in the product details, so avoid assuming the tool is suited to a particular cleaning method or long-term outdoor storage.

Questions before you buy

How much weight can it lift? The listed capacity is 8.5 pounds for a static load and 4 pounds for a dynamic load. For moving an item with the grabber, the lower dynamic figure is the relevant one to keep in mind.

Can the head change direction? Yes. The jaw is described as rotating 360 degrees, allowing you to adjust its angle for a target in a cramped spot.

Does it fold for storage? Yes, the product is described as foldable. The listing identifies it as 44 inches, but does not give a folded measurement.

When it makes sense

It makes sense if you want a longer reacher for light pickup around the home, garden, or garage and value a rotating, wide jaw that folds for storage. Not the best choice if you need to lift heavy objects, want a precise folded size before buying, or expect a reacher to replace a tool made for pulling stuck or bulky loads.
