## Description

## How to use it

The 8 x 14 ft clear tarp gives patios, porches, and greenhouse areas a transparent cover. Its 8-mil polyethylene material is designed to be waterproof while letting daylight pass through. How can you secure a cover while keeping the area bright? Thread the included rope through the grommets and tie it to suitable fixed points. The tarp comes with a 33 ft rope and 20 zip ties for setup.

Use it as an outdoor cover for a patio or deck, or to shelter a garden enclosure or pet area from rain and wind. Its clear finish also makes it possible to keep an eye on animals through the cover. For a greenhouse, the transparency helps daylight reach plants while providing a protective layer overhead or along the sides.

## Pros

The edges are folded and heat-sealed, with poly rope sewn into the hem for reinforcement. Plastic plates reinforce the corners, and aluminum grommets provide attachment points along the edges at 20-inch intervals. Together, these details give you multiple places to tie down the tarp and help keep its edges supported when it is secured.

The clear material offers a different approach from an opaque tarp: it provides a cover while preserving visibility and allowing light through. That can be useful when you want to protect a patio seating area without fully screening it from view, or cover a plant enclosure without blocking daylight.

Buyers describe the tarp as easy to put up and appreciate the grommets for securing it. They also highlight its transparency and perceived thickness, along with their impressions of its durability and water protection.

## What matters most

The key choice is whether a clear cover suits the space and the task. At 8 x 14 ft, this tarp can span a larger patio or porch section than a smaller sheet, while the grommets provide attachment points for positioning it. Measure the area you intend to cover and consider where you can tie the edges down so the layout works with the available supports.

Its combination of visibility and weather protection is useful for spaces that still need to feel open. For example, a gardener could use it to cover a greenhouse area while keeping plants visible, or a homeowner could use it as a transparent barrier around a porch. The same clear format can help keep animals in view when used around a suitable enclosure.

## Before you decide

**What are the tarp’s dimensions?** It measures 8 x 14 ft, with listed product dimensions of 168 inches long by 96 inches wide.

**How do you secure it?** Use the grommets along the edges to tie it to fixed points. They are spaced 20 inches apart, and the set includes a 33 ft rope and 20 zip ties.

**Does it let light through?** Yes. The product is described as 90% transparent, making it suitable when you want a cover that still allows daylight and visibility.

## When it makes sense

It makes sense if you need a transparent, waterproof cover in an 8 x 14 ft size and want reinforced edges with regularly spaced attachment points. Choose it for patio, porch, deck, greenhouse, or enclosure applications where visibility matters alongside cover. The clear polyethylene construction, reinforced corners, and included tie-down supplies make it a practical fit for setting up a secured outdoor barrier.
