## Description

Some households prefer key-only access, while others want a code option for family or guests. The iulock IU-30 combines a keypad with two mechanical keys and automatic locking. Need different entry codes for different people? It supports up to 50 user codes, with each code from 1 to 15 digits.

## Technical overview
- Type: Keypad door knob lock with mechanical key access
- Model: IU-30
- Color: Matte black
- User codes: Up to 50, each 1–15 digits, one master code is also required
- Weather resistance: IP65
- Auto-lock: Default 4 seconds, adjustable from 2 seconds to 12 hours
- Power: 4 AAA batteries, USB-C backup power
- Door fit: 1-3/8" to 2-1/2" thick, with an adjustable 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" latch

The backlit keypad helps make code entry easier in low light, while silent mode lets you turn off keypad beeps. Passage modes provide a choice between returning to auto-lock or keeping the door unlocked. For a familiar fallback, the lock also supports key access and includes two keys.

## Requirements
The IU-30 is designed for residential and other door entry use, including compatible wood and metal doors. Before installation, match the door thickness and latch backset to the measurements above. Installation uses a screwdriver, follow the included manual, and change the required master code when setting up the lock. The four AAA batteries are not included. A USB-C connection can provide backup power if the batteries run out.

## Practical tips
Assign individual user codes to people who need access, and change or remove codes as your household or access needs change. Keep the master code active, since the lock requires one. Set the auto-lock interval to suit the doorway: a short delay can secure the door soon after entry, while a longer setting offers more time to move through it. Use a passage mode when you want the lock to remain unlocked, and switch back to auto-lock when that access is no longer needed.

The keypad knob has a detachable silicone grip, and the package includes rubber rosette seals for installation. Buyers often praise the straightforward setup, code programming, and appearance. Feedback is mixed on long-term durability and unlocking, with some buyers reporting that the lock did not open reliably, including from inside. These reports are worth weighing alongside the convenience of keypad entry when choosing a lock for a frequently used doorway.

## Questions before you buy
How many codes can you program? The lock supports one master code and up to 50 user codes. Codes can be 1 to 15 digits long, and the master code must remain in place.

What door sizes does it fit? It is specified for doors 1-3/8" to 2-1/2" thick and an adjustable latch backset of 2-3/8" or 2-3/4".

What happens if the batteries run out? The lock has a USB-C backup power connection. It also provides mechanical key access, with two keys included.

## Buying verdict
The IU-30 suits buyers who want a keypad door knob with room for separate household or guest codes, adjustable auto-lock timing, and key access as a backup. Its backlit keypad, passage modes, and IP65 weather resistance make it a practical choice for a compatible entry door where flexible code access is a priority.
