## Description

This absorbent microfiber dish drying mat from S&T INC. is a compact countertop solution for drying dishes, utensils, pots and pans while protecting surfaces. It soaks up standing water and cushions delicate items, making cleanup simpler after cooking or entertaining.

## Key Points

The mat absorbs moisture efficiently, and according to the manufacturer it can hold up to **16 times its weight**, which helps keep countertops dryer between hand washes. It is reversible for flexible use on either side, and the soft surface helps prevent scratches on glassware and plated cookware. 🍽️

Construction is soft but durable, intended to resist fraying and cracking that can happen with rigid drain boards. The pad can also be used as a nonabrasive base for small appliances to reduce movement and marring of worktops. A note to consider is that the mat retains moisture until fully dry, so allow airflow for faster drying after heavy use.

## Usage Recommendations

Place the mat next to the sink under a dish rack or lay dishes directly on the surface after rinsing. For delicate stemware, position glasses in the center where the microfiber offers the most padding. When heavy pans are drying, periodically lift the mat to let trapped moisture evaporate. For everyday convenience, keep a small area of counter free to air the mat between uses. 🧼

Use it under small appliances like a blender to reduce vibration and protect counters. The reversible design lets you switch sides if one face gets heavily soiled. Machine washing restores absorbency and keeps the pad fresh for repeated cycles, though allow it to dry fully before stacking or storing.

## Practical Tips

For best results, rinse large food particles off dishes before placing them on the mat to avoid trapping residue in the fibers. Rotate the mat occasionally to distribute wear and to expose damp areas to air for quicker drying. Avoid leaving the mat in a closed, humid space while wet to reduce mildew risk. 🍴

If stain removal is needed, wash with mild detergent and tumble dry on low or air dry. While durable, the pad is not designed for direct contact with hot pots straight from the stove so allow cookware to cool slightly before setting it down on the microfiber surface.
