## Description

A whole-house water filter should match your housing and the kind of sediment you want to capture. The ICEPURE PPL10BB-05 is a pleated 5-micron replacement filter sized for standard 10 x 4.5-inch systems, making it a practical fit for sediment filtration in well-water setups.

Its washable pleated design supports ongoing maintenance, and the two-pack gives you a replacement ready for the next filter change.

## Who it’s for
This filter is designed for households using a compatible whole-house filtration system, including well-water applications. Its 5-micron rating and pleated format target sediment such as rust, sand, silt, and other particles. It is also listed as a replacement for models including GE FXHSC, Culligan R50-BBSA, Pentek R50-BB, and DuPont WFHDC3001. Match the filter size and cartridge reference to your existing housing before choosing a replacement.

If you are comparing a washable pleated cartridge with a filter intended for one-time use, the washable design is a useful point of distinction for routine sediment-filter care. Buyers also describe the filter as easy to install and report good fit in standard 10 x 4.5-inch housings. Their impressions of filter lifespan vary, so actual replacement timing depends on use and water conditions.

## Benefits
Pleated construction provides a filtration surface for capturing sediment while allowing water to pass through the cartridge. This makes the filter suited to prefiltration in a whole-house system, where managing particles such as rust, sand, and silt is the main task. The 5-micron rating gives shoppers a clear filtration specification to compare when selecting a replacement.

The washable format supports cleaning and continued use as part of regular filter maintenance. ICEPURE suggests replacing the filter every 3–6 months or 30,000 gallons. That interval offers a reference for planning upkeep, check the cartridge periodically and follow the needs of your water system. The product is supplied as a two-pack, so a second cartridge is on hand for a future change.

## Practical questions
What size housing does this filter fit? It is sized for standard 10 x 4.5-inch filter housings. Confirm that your existing cartridge uses this size and check the replacement model reference for your system.

What does the 5-micron filter target? It is intended to capture sediment, including rust, sand, silt, and other particles as part of whole-house prefiltration.

Can the cartridge be washed? Yes. It is described as washable for extended use. ICEPURE recommends a replacement interval of 3–6 months or 30,000 gallons.

## When it makes sense
It makes sense if you need a washable, pleated sediment cartridge for a compatible 10 x 4.5-inch whole-house housing, particularly in a well-water setup. The defined 5-micron rating, named replacement compatibility, and two-filter pack make it a straightforward choice for maintaining routine sediment filtration.
