## Description

For a Wii music-game session, the Hyperkin Hyper Strummer puts strumming and fret-button play in a dedicated guitar-style controller. Its tactile strum bar, quick-action fret buttons, and metal whammy bar recreate the familiar Guitar Hero-style control layout, while the included adjustable strap helps keep the guitar in place as you play.

It connects wirelessly through a Wii Remote inserted into the guitar, so the remote powers the controller without additional batteries or cables.

## What you’ll notice day to day
The guitar layout makes strumming and pressing fret buttons the focus, rather than mapping the same actions to a standard gamepad. That distinction matters when you want the hands-on rhythm-game experience: the tactile strum bar gives each note a physical action, and the metal whammy bar adds another control for supported gameplay. The adjustable strap makes it easier to hold the instrument in a playing position during a song or a longer session.

The Hyper Strummer is designed for Guitar Hero and Rock Band games on Nintendo Wii. It is not compatible with Rock Band 1. For a player choosing between familiar gamepad controls and a guitar-shaped controller, this model is the more direct fit for guitar-game play, provided the game is compatible.

## What matters most
Wireless operation depends on inserting your Wii Remote into the guitar. To set it up, remove the compartment’s back door, connect and insert the remote, then use the guitar with the Wii console. Because the remote supplies power, the guitar does not require additional batteries or cables. This keeps the controller setup centered on the Wii Remote you use with the console.

The tactile strum bar and fret buttons are the key features for note-by-note play, while the whammy bar provides a separate, familiar guitar-game control. If you’re putting together a Wii setup for Guitar Hero or a compatible Rock Band title, check that the game is not Rock Band 1 before choosing this controller. Worth considering if you want a dedicated wireless guitar controller for compatible Wii music games rather than a standard gamepad.

## Practical tips
Before playing, place your Wii Remote in the guitar’s compartment and make sure it is connected and seated as intended. Keep the remote with the controller during play, since it powers the Hyper Strummer and enables its wireless operation. Pair the controller with a compatible Guitar Hero or Rock Band game for Wii, Rock Band 1 is excluded. The adjustable strap can be set for a more comfortable hold while you use the strum bar, fret buttons, and whammy bar.

## Buying verdict
The Hyper Strummer is built around the guitar-game controls players come for: a tactile strum bar, fret buttons, and a metal whammy bar, in a wireless design powered by a Wii Remote. It suits Wii owners who want to play compatible Guitar Hero or Rock Band games with a dedicated guitar-style controller and an adjustable strap. Choose it for that focused, hands-on style of play, with the game compatibility in mind.
