## Description

Some pest-control tasks call for treating a broad area, others call for placing product precisely where insects travel or hide. Harris DECRAWL-4P is a ready-to-use diatomaceous earth powder for crawling insects, with a powder duster included inside the bag to help apply it in cracks, crevices, and other targeted spots.

Its 4 lb supply is suited to indoor and outdoor use, from baseboards and under sinks to garages, gardens, and entry points. The powder works mechanically: insects that contact or ingest it are dehydrated through physical abrasion.

## Worth noting

The formula is made from 100% freshwater diatomaceous earth with no fillers or additives. It is intended for a range of crawling insects, including ants, bed bugs, cockroaches, fleas, earwigs, silverfish, and spiders. The manufacturer states that insects die within 48 hours after contact or ingestion.

Rather than relying on a chemical action, the powder damages an insect’s exoskeleton and causes dehydration. This makes it a practical format for placing treatment along insect pathways and in hiding spots. The included duster is designed to direct powder onto surfaces or into narrow cracks and crevices, including areas behind appliances and under sinks.

Customers’ experiences with application vary. Some find the duster helpful, while others report that spreading the powder can be messy. A small amount applied deliberately in a targeted location can help keep treatment focused. Some customers also mention respiratory irritation, so avoid raising dust or breathing airborne powder during application.

## Cleaning & care

The powder remains effective as long as it stays dry. Keep treated areas dry to maintain its intended use, and reapply according to the product directions if the powder becomes wet or is removed. For indoor living areas, apply in a way that avoids deposits on exposed surfaces and keeps the material out of the air. Test a small area of a surface first and check for staining or another adverse reaction before making a regular application.

## Usage tips

Use the duster to place powder in cracks, crevices, along baseboards, behind appliances, under sinks, and at entry points where crawling insects may travel. The targeted application suits jobs where the treatment needs to reach a narrow gap rather than cover an entire exposed surface. Indoor and outdoor settings listed for use include basements, attics, garages, and gardens.

Follow the product directions for each application and keep the powder from becoming airborne. The product description states it can be used around children and animals when used as directed, careful placement in the intended treatment area helps keep the application controlled. For indoor use, avoid leaving powder on exposed surfaces.

## Final verdict

Harris DECRAWL-4P brings together a 4 lb supply of freshwater diatomaceous earth and an included powder duster for targeted crawling-insect treatment. It is a useful fit for households looking to apply a dry, mechanically acting powder in cracks, crevices, and other insect travel areas, indoors or outdoors, while keeping it dry and following the directions.
