## Description

An adjustable strap lets you set how firmly the Gruv Gear FW-3PK-SM dampens the strings, giving you control over unwanted resonance during playing. This three-pack is sized for a six-string guitar or four-string bass.

Use the fret wrap near the nut to help control sympathetic string noise while recording, practicing, or playing techniques such as two-handed tapping and legato. It can also be moved to the headstock when you want it out of the way.

The wrap installs without tools or permanent instrument modifications. Its small, black design offers a practical alternative to changing your instrument when you want a movable way to mute strings.

## Best use cases

When tapping, sweep picking, or playing high-gain lead parts, strings that are not being played can add unwanted noise. Positioning the wrap near the nut helps damp those strings, supporting a cleaner, more controlled sound for recording or practice. The adjustable strap lets you change the damping pressure to suit the playing situation, from lighter muting to fuller dampening.

For a recording setup, place it near the nut while working through a take, then move it to the headstock when it is not in use. The same removable approach works for practice and live playing, without permanently changing the instrument. This small size is specified for six-string guitars and four-string basses.

## What you’ll notice day to day

The main benefit is having a simple way to manage strings that ring along with the notes you intend to play. Move the wrap into position for passages where you want extra muting, and adjust the strap pressure to match your preferred feel. When it is not needed, slide it up to the headstock for quick access.

Buyers frequently highlight its noise-control function, ease of adjustment, and usefulness across different playing situations. Some also appreciate its unobtrusive appearance. Opinions on value are mixed, so the clearest reason to choose this pack is the convenience of having three adjustable, removable dampeners for applicable instruments and techniques.

## What to clarify

**Which instruments is the small size specified for?** It is listed to fit a six-string guitar or a four-string bass, making it a useful size to consider when selecting a wrap for either instrument.

**Where should the fret wrap go?** Place it near the nut when you want to damp the strings. When you are not using it, move it to the headstock so it stays accessible.

**Can you change how strongly it mutes?** Yes. The adjustable strap system lets you vary the damping pressure, from lighter muting to fuller dampening, depending on the sound control you want.

## Is it worth it?

For guitarists and bassists working on precise passages, recording parts, or practicing techniques that can bring out sympathetic string noise, the FW-3PK-SM provides adjustable muting in a removable format. Its specified fit for six-string guitars and four-string basses, tool-free placement, and three-pack format make it a practical choice when you want flexible string damping without a permanent instrument change.
