Govee H5089 Smart Outlet Extender with RGB Night Light, 6 Outlets and 2 USB Ports
Product description
How to use it
The 5VA flame-retardant plastic housing brings six outlets and two USB ports together in a compact, three-sided outlet extender. Its layout adds plug-in options around a single wall outlet while keeping a mix of smart-controlled and always-on connections.
Use the Govee Home App, Alexa, or Google Assistant to control the two smart outlets. The other four outlets stay always on, making them suitable for devices that need continuous power, such as a router or bedside lamp. The two USB ports add charging connections for compatible devices.
For installation, plug the extender into a Type A North American outlet and secure it with the retaining screw. The 1.97-inch spacing between outlets accommodates larger plugs with room to reduce adapter crowding. In a bedroom or study, you can control a lamp through a smart outlet while keeping other everyday devices connected to the always-on outlets.

Why it’s worth it
This extender combines smart control, always-on power, USB charging, and an RGB night light in one outlet-mounted unit. That makes it a practical alternative to a basic power strip when you want to automate selected devices without interrupting power to everything else. Set schedules for the smart outlets and night light in the app to align them with a bedroom, office, or kitchen routine.
The night light adds another useful function beyond expanding outlet access. Choose from multiple colors and scenes for soft nighttime lighting or a touch of color in a room. Surge and overload protection, together with the flame-retardant housing, add documented safety features to the everyday setup.
Buyers commonly appreciate the app, USB ports, night light, and straightforward installation. Their feedback also highlights the usefulness of having four outlets that remain on while the two smart outlets can be programmed separately.
Practical questions
Which outlets can I control remotely? The two smart outlets can be operated through the Govee Home App, Alexa, or Google Assistant. The other four outlets are always on.
Can I schedule the light as well as the outlets? Yes. The Govee Home App lets you set on/off schedules for the RGB night light and both smart outlets.
How does the extender stay in place? A retaining screw secures it at the outlet. The design also provides 1.97 inches of spacing between outlets to help accommodate larger plugs.
Is it worth it?
For a bedside table, study, or other space where one wall outlet needs to serve several devices, the H5089 brings together six outlets, two USB ports, app and voice control, and an RGB night light. Its mix of two programmable outlets and four always-on outlets is especially useful when you want to automate selected devices while keeping essential connections powered.
