GooMags Montessori Animal Train Set with 9 Numbered Barns and 10 Finger Puppets

Set up a pretend farm train for counting practice, animal matching, and storytelling. The GooMags set combines numbered barns with finger puppets, so play can move between simple sorting activities and imaginative scenes.

Its train cars can be connected and rearranged, while the barns and train have removable roofs for placing figures inside. That gives children a few different ways to use the same pieces.

How much can a farm-themed train add to a counting activity? Here, numbers, matching dots, colors, and animal figures give children several things to explore together.

Key points

The set includes nine numbered barns marked from 1 to 9 with matching dots, nine animal finger puppets, and a farmer figure in the locomotive. It also comes with four carriages, three connectable train bases, and two DIY sticker sets. The barns and train roofs detach, and the cars can be rearranged, so the play setup does not have to stay in one configuration.

Those details make it useful for practicing number recognition, counting, sorting, and matching through play. The puppets and barn pieces also support pretend farm stories. The product description highlights textured patterns as another feature for hands-on exploration, though it does not specify what materials the pieces are made from.

Tips for day-to-day use

A simple way to begin is to match each numbered barn with its dots, then use the animal figures for a sorting game or a short farm story. Children can also decorate the train and barns with the included stickers. With the connectable bases, the cars can be joined into a longer train or rearranged into smaller play setups.

You’ll appreciate it if you want a toy that brings early number activities and pretend play into one set, rather than choosing a counting toy with no role-play pieces. The product details do not give a recommended age range, so they do not establish which ages will find the setup easiest to manage.

Everyday use

For a shared play session, an adult could invite a child to count the barns, find the matching dots, and then use the puppets to act out a farm trip. The same pieces can shift into free play once the counting activity is done. That mix may suit children who enjoy both hands-on sorting and storytelling, without requiring a fixed sequence of activities.

Buyer feedback is positive about the colorful design and the toy’s entertaining, educational play, some also say it is larger than they expected. Experiences with assembly and durability are mixed, though: some buyers find it easy to put together or sturdy, while others say pieces do not stay connected well or have concerns about durability. Feedback on age suitability also varies, so there is no clear age consensus to rely on.

Questions before you buy

What is included? The set has nine numbered barns, nine animal finger puppets, a farmer figure, four carriages, three connectable train bases, and two DIY sticker sets.

Can the train cars be rearranged? Yes. The product details say the bases connect and can be rearranged to change the train configuration.

What kinds of play does it support? The numbered barns and matching dots are intended for counting, number recognition, and sorting, while the puppets and removable roofs make room for pretend play.

Is it worth it?

This set makes sense if you want one farm-themed toy to combine basic number activities, matching, and character play. Its variety of pieces gives children more than a single counting task, and the rearrangeable train offers another way to set up play. It may not suit you if you need pieces that buyers consistently report staying firmly connected: feedback on the connections and durability is divided. Consider whether that trade-off matters for the way the toy will be used at home.
