## Description

## Opening

The Ryzen 5 PRO 6650H combines 6 cores and 12 threads with speeds up to 4.5GHz, giving the GMKtec M8 a capable foundation for everyday work, multitasking, and content creation in a mini PC format.

Its 16GB LPDDR5 memory and 512GB NVMe SSD provide a ready-to-use setup for files, applications, and projects. Dual M.2 2280 slots also give the system room for storage expansion as needs change.

Choose the M8 when a compact computer needs to connect to multiple displays and wired networks. For a simpler desk setup, those connections may matter less, for a multi-screen workspace or a home server project, they make the M8 more versatile.

## What matters most

Integrated AMD Radeon 660M graphics handle display and media tasks, while HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1, and USB4 provide three display connection options. The system supports up to three displays simultaneously, making it useful for keeping documents, communication tools, and reference material visible across a multi-screen workspace. HDMI and DisplayPort also offer straightforward ways to connect compatible monitors.

USB4 supports data, power delivery, and video, with transfer speeds up to 40Gbps. OCuLink adds a dedicated connection for an external GPU setup, offering an expansion path for users who want to build beyond the integrated graphics. These connections give the M8 a more flexible role than a basic mini PC used only for one screen and a few everyday tasks.

Two 2.5GbE Ethernet ports support wired networking needs such as a home server or a virtualization setup. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 provide wireless connectivity for compatible networks and devices. For a wired workstation, network project, or multi-display desk, the mix of connections can help keep the computer at the center of the setup without taking up the space of a traditional desktop tower.

## How to use it

Connect a monitor through HDMI, DisplayPort, or USB4, then add a keyboard, mouse, and other peripherals through the available USB ports. For a multi-screen workspace, use the three supported display outputs together. The built-in dual-fan cooling system and copper heat pipes are designed to move heat through the chassis during operation, keep the mini PC in a suitable position for its air-cooling system to function.

For extra storage, the M8 has dual M.2 2280 slots. OCuLink provides a connection option for a compatible external GPU setup, while USB4 can serve for data, video, and power delivery. Choose the connection based on the equipment and task you are setting up, whether that means expanding a desk workstation or adding wired network functions.

## Who it’s for

The GMKtec M8 suits people who want a compact desktop for office work, multitasking, or content creation and value a broad set of connection options. Its three-display support is especially relevant for users who organize work across multiple screens, while dual 2.5GbE LAN makes it worth considering for home networking and server projects. The Ryzen 5 PRO processor, 16GB LPDDR5 memory, and 512GB NVMe SSD bring the core components together in a single mini PC.

It also makes sense for someone planning an expandable setup: the dual M.2 slots provide room for additional storage, and OCuLink offers an external GPU connection path. If the main goal is a small computer for a multi-screen desk or a wired networking project, those specific features help distinguish the M8 from a more basic, single-purpose mini PC.

## Final verdict

The M8 brings processing, storage, multi-display output, and dual 2.5GbE networking into a compact desktop. It is a practical fit for a workspace that benefits from several connected displays, wired network options, or a future storage and graphics expansion path.
