## Description

For homeowners who need outdoor monitoring without running power wiring to the camera, the GALAYOU R6 combines wireless connectivity with a detachable solar panel. Its 2K video, color night vision, and motion-activated recording help you check activity around places such as a garage, patio, driveway, or farm from a smartphone.

The camera connects over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and has an IP65 weather-resistance rating. Its solar panel can attach to the camera or mount separately, giving you flexibility to position it where sunlight is available.

## Key features

The R6 captures video at 1296p and includes color night vision, with a stated night vision range of 26 feet. For outdoor areas where activity may happen after dark, this combination helps make recorded scenes easier to review. The camera also features motion sensing, human detection, and automatic tracking with 344° horizontal pan and 85° vertical tilt. A built-in siren can be triggered remotely, while two-way audio lets you speak through the camera using a connected smartphone.

Solar power supports a wire-free setup, and a Type-C port provides an alternate way to power the camera during extended cloudy periods. The solar panel can be attached directly to the camera or installed separately on a wall. For recording, the camera supports motion-activated clips rather than continuous video. The included service offers access to 10-second alert videos for two days and snapshot history for five days. Longer local recording is available with a TF card up to 128GB, sold separately, cloud storage is also available with a paid plan. A cloud subscription is optional.

## Tips for day-to-day use

Connect the camera to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, it does not support 5 GHz Wi-Fi. When choosing a mounting position, consider both the area you want to monitor and sunlight for the solar panel. If you mount the panel separately, its position can be chosen independently of the camera. Keep the panel surface clean and its connections secure to support charging. For local storage, add a compatible TF card, otherwise, the optional cloud plan provides another way to store recordings.

## Everyday use

Use the R6 to check motion around an entry, garage, yard, or outbuilding, then use two-way audio to address a visitor or communicate with someone nearby. Motion-activated recording focuses video storage on detected activity, while the app provides a way to view the camera remotely. Buyers often praise the picture quality, night vision, and straightforward setup. Feedback is more mixed on battery life, Wi-Fi connection, and motion tracking, so placement and a suitable Wi-Fi connection are practical parts of setting up the camera.

Compared with a wired outdoor camera, this solar-powered design gives you more flexibility in where to mount it. Compared with a camera that records continuously, its motion-triggered approach is centered on activity alerts and event clips. That makes the storage choices useful to consider: use a TF card for local recording or choose paid cloud storage for automatic backup.

## When it makes sense

A solid pick if you want outdoor camera coverage with solar power, remote viewing, and two-way communication in one wireless setup. The detachable panel, 2K video, color night vision, and motion tracking suit monitoring a particular outdoor area without routing a power cable to the camera. Choose a position with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi access, then select local TF-card storage or optional paid cloud storage to match how you want to keep recordings.
