Frigidaire 5303918493 Ice Maker Assembly Kit for Refrigerators

When a refrigerator’s ice maker needs repair, replacing the assembly is a more focused job than shopping for an entirely new appliance. The Frigidaire 5303918493 is a replacement ice maker assembly kit for refrigerators. The key buying question is whether this part matches your specific refrigerator model.

Size & fit

The listed item dimensions are 1"D x 1"W x 1"H, but those figures alone don’t establish whether the assembly will fit a particular refrigerator. The product information specifically advises checking the appliance manual for compatibility before purchase. Match the part to your refrigerator’s model rather than relying only on the Frigidaire name or the general description “for refrigerators.” That step matters because replacement parts are model-specific, a similar-looking assembly is not necessarily interchangeable.

The manufacturer identifies this as a genuine Frigidaire replacement part, designed to the brand’s specifications. That may make it a more relevant choice for someone seeking a Frigidaire part than an unspecified replacement, but it does not remove the need to confirm compatibility with the appliance in question.

What you’ll notice day to day

This is an internal repair component, not a countertop ice maker or a complete refrigerator. Its intended role is to replace an ice maker assembly in a compatible refrigerator. In practical terms, it suits a repair plan where the appliance is otherwise being kept and the ice maker assembly is the part being addressed.

Installation is described as a job for an experienced DIYer. The listed tools include a 3/8" socket and ratchet, a 1/4" nut driver, an S2 screwdriver, a cross-head screwdriver, a small flat-blade screwdriver, gloves, and safety glasses. Buyers’ comments describe installation as manageable for some, including removing the old unit, but those accounts don’t change the stated skill guidance. If you’re not comfortable with appliance repairs, professional installation may be a better fit.

Buyer feedback is positive about ice production and fit for some refrigerators, while reports of reliability are mixed: some say the assembly worked well, and others say it stopped working later. These are individual experiences, not a guarantee of performance or lifespan. You’ll appreciate it if you want a Frigidaire-branded replacement and have confirmed that the model matches your appliance. It might not be a great match if you need a universal part or aren’t prepared to verify compatibility and handle an experienced-DIY-level installation.

When it makes sense

This kit is most relevant when the repair is specifically for a refrigerator ice maker and the appliance manual confirms compatibility with part 5303918493. It gives buyers looking for a Frigidaire replacement a clearly identified part number to compare against their repair information. If the refrigerator model is unknown, or the manual does not confirm the match, identifying the correct part should come before ordering, the product description does not claim universal compatibility. For someone comfortable with the listed tools and repair skill level, it may suit a targeted component replacement. For a buyer looking for an easier, plug-in ice-making solution rather than an appliance repair, this assembly serves a different purpose.
