## Description

The 1TB M.2 2280 format fits an internal SSD setup built around a compatible M.2 slot. The fanxiang S501Q uses NVMe over PCIe 3.0 x4, with SLC cache to support read and write activity. Its compact format keeps the drive inside a laptop, desktop, or all-in-one computer. Use it for everyday storage, business tasks, or gaming.

## Practical tips

Before installation, make sure the computer’s motherboard has an M.2 interface that supports this NVMe drive. The S501Q is listed for Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11, as well as macOS 10.9 and later. After installing it for the first time in Windows, use Disk Management to format and partition the drive so it can be used in File Explorer. Installation screws and a screwdriver are included, helping with the physical setup.

For a practical upgrade, the 1TB capacity provides room for applications, game files, and personal documents on one internal drive. The product information lists read speeds up to 3,200 MB/s and write speeds up to 1,750 MB/s, actual use depends on the computer and workload. SLC cache supports the drive’s read and write activity during tasks such as opening programs, loading games, and saving or transferring files.

## Strengths

The S501Q combines 3D NAND with an NVMe M.2 2280 design. With no internal moving mechanism, the SSD is described as shock resistant, a useful design feature in a drive installed inside a computer. A graphene heat-dissipation sticker is also included on the drive to help manage heat during operation.

Its PCIe 3.0 x4 connection and SLC cache make this a fit for systems where an internal NVMe drive is preferred. Compared with choosing a 2.5-inch SATA drive, this option suits a computer with an available M.2 interface and space for the 2280 format. That distinction helps narrow the choice to the storage connection your computer is built to use.

## What to know

The drive is intended for internal installation, and the computer must have an M.2 interface. The listed 1TB capacity, 3D NAND, and SLC cache are useful considerations when selecting storage for a mix of applications, games, and files. The manufacturer states endurance up to 320TBW and provides a three-year service period.

Buyer feedback commonly highlights speed, storage capacity, and ease of setup. Reports about compatibility and data reliability are mixed, so match the drive to the computer’s M.2 requirements and keep a separate backup of important files, as with any storage device.

## When it makes sense

The fanxiang S501Q is a solid pick if you want 1TB of internal NVMe storage for a compatible laptop, desktop, or all-in-one computer. Its M.2 2280 format, PCIe 3.0 x4 connection, and SLC cache suit everyday computing and game or application storage, while the included installation hardware supports getting the drive mounted in the system.
