## Description

Gesture control lets this EduCuties robot respond to hand movements, making play more interactive than simply steering it with a remote. It can also walk, dance, and light up its LED eyes as it moves. Children can create and replay action sequences for a more hands-on introduction to robot-style controls. Its green design is made for indoor play on the floor.

## Who it’s for

The EC22-5R is designed for kids who enjoy moving toys, dancing characters, and trying out different ways to control a robot. The infrared remote offers a familiar way to direct its movements, while gesture control adds another option: hand commands can guide it forward or backward and turn it left or right. Switching between the two lets children explore how different inputs affect the same toy.

It suits play sessions where a child wants to guide a robot around the room, set up a short route, or show off a sequence of moves. Its articulated joints and skating wheels support combinations of actions, and the illuminated blue LED eyes make its movements easy to notice. The robot is intended for indoor use, with floor play as its listed activity setting.

## Why it’s worth it

Programming is a key part of the play. Kids can enter a sequence of up to 50 actions and have the robot play them back in order. A child might combine turns, forward and backward movement, patrol, and a dance into one routine, then watch the robot repeat that custom sequence. This gives play a creative, trial-and-adjust element alongside the straightforward fun of controlling its movement.

The robot also offers automatic display and obstacle-avoidance functions, as well as singing and speaking modes. That variety gives children different ways to engage with it, whether they want to direct a particular movement, explore gestures, or let it perform. For families choosing between a simple push-along toy and a more interactive robot, the remote, gesture, and programming options make this a fit for play centered on control and movement.

Buyer feedback commonly highlights entertainment and ease of use, with some noting that play can help children practice remote-control skills. Feedback on functionality and battery longevity is mixed, so experiences vary. The rechargeable robot battery and USB charging connection make recharging part of the play routine, the included remote requires two AA batteries.

## Final verdict

For kids drawn to robots they can actively direct, the EC22-5R brings several kinds of play together: remote steering, gesture commands, illuminated eyes, and custom action playback. It’s especially suited to indoor floor play where children can guide its movements and build a routine of their own. That combination makes it a compelling choice for a birthday or other gift when the goal is an interactive robot rather than a toy that only moves at the push of a button.
