## Description

For a home where pet hair collects on carpets, stairs, and upholstery, the Dyson Ball Animal 3 Extra offers a corded upright design with specialized tools for different cleaning tasks. Its brush bar automatically clears wrapped hair as you vacuum. Need to steer around furniture or reach up high? Ball technology and an instant-release wand help you move between those areas.

## At a glance

This upright vacuum is designed for homes with pets and is recommended for all floor types. Choose among three cleaning modes to suit the task, from carpets and rugs to other areas around the home. The included tangle-free turbine tool helps remove pet hair from upholstery and cars, while the combination tool is useful for reaching tighter spots. A stair tool adds a dedicated option for stair cleaning.

The corded electric design provides a total reach of up to 50 ft: the hose stretches 15 ft, and the cord reaches up to 35 ft. That reach can help when moving from room to room or cleaning stairs without relying only on the main vacuum body. The bin is emptied with a button, ejecting dirt hygienically without needing to handle it directly.

## Size & fit

The vacuum measures 15.51" L x 11.02" W x 42.17" H and weighs 17.3 pounds. Its 0.45-gallon capacity gives you room to collect dirt and pet hair during household cleaning. The upright form is suited to floor cleaning, while the hose and wand extend its use to stairs and higher or harder-to-reach areas.

The included tools are the combination tool, stair tool, tool holder, pet grooming tool, and tangle-free turbine tool. The grooming tool is intended for pets with medium or long hair. Used as directed, it helps remove loose hair, dead skin, and allergens from the pet before they spread around the home.

## How to use it

Select one of the three cleaning modes for the task, then steer the vacuum around obstacles with a turn of the wrist. For carpets and rugs, stiff, dense nylon bristles agitate the surface to help lift stubborn dirt and pet hair. The brush bar’s de-tangling technology clears wrapped hair as you clean, reducing the need to stop and remove it manually during a session.

For stairs, release the hose and wand to reach along the steps. Use the tangle-free turbine tool on upholstery or in the car, and the combination tool for hard-to-reach areas. The pet grooming tool has a separate role: it is designed for grooming medium- and long-haired pets, so follow its instructions when using it directly on an animal.

## Practical questions

**Can it clean more than carpet?** Yes. It is recommended for all floors, and its three cleaning modes let you choose an approach for different household tasks. The included tools also extend cleaning to stairs, upholstery, cars, and tighter spaces.

**Which attachments are included?** The set includes a combination tool, stair tool, tool holder, pet grooming tool, and tangle-free turbine tool, giving you options for floor care, stairs, pet grooming, and upholstery.

**What is the grooming tool designed for?** It is intended for pets with medium or long hair and helps remove loose hair, dead skin, and allergens directly from the pet. Follow the grooming tool instructions for use.

## When it makes sense

The Ball Animal 3 Extra is a practical fit for pet-owning households that want one corded upright for floors and a set of dedicated tools for stairs, furniture, cars, and grooming. Its self-clearing brush bar, three cleaning modes, and up-to-50-ft total reach support a range of home cleaning tasks, while Ball steering helps guide it around furniture. Choose it when you want an upright vacuum with pet-focused accessories rather than a floor-only setup.
