Duck Brand Foam Mounting Tape, 0.75-Inch x 60 Inches

The foam backing gives this double-sided tape a little stand-off between an item and the mounting surface, while its adhesive is intended for a permanent bond. That makes it a practical alternative to a nail or screw for lightweight displays such as name plates, small signs, and craft projects. The roll is white and measures 0.75 inch by 60 inches, so its width and total length are worth factoring into your layout before you start. Its stated holding limit is up to 2 pounds, that limit should guide what you choose to mount, not be treated as a guarantee for every surface or object.

Getting the most from it

Think of this tape as a way to mount a lightweight item without putting a fastener through it. For example, when setting up a small name plate, you can position the tape behind it so the adhesive stays out of view. Because the bond is described as permanent, take care with placement: this is not the same kind of choice as a temporary hook or removable mounting strip that you expect to reposition later.

The surface restrictions matter just as much as the weight limit. Duck says not to use it on wallpaper, unfinished wood, drywall, plaster, or stucco. If your project involves one of those materials, choose another mounting method rather than assuming the foam will make the tape suitable. And if the item’s weight is unknown, don’t assume it falls within the stated limit without that measurement.

Why it’s worth it

The useful distinction here is simplicity: this is a narrow roll of foam-backed, double-sided adhesive for permanent mounting, not a hardware kit or a reusable fastener. That can suit a small sign or craft where a visible nail would distract from the finished look. It is also made in the USA, according to the product description.

Worth considering if you want a permanent adhesive option for a lightweight item and can use it on a suitable surface. It’s not for you if you need an adjustable or removable attachment, are mounting something over 2 pounds, or need to attach it to one of the listed excluded surfaces. If you prioritize a clean-looking, no-hole mount, this approach has an advantage, if you prefer a mechanical fastener that can be removed or repositioned, a screw or other hardware may fit that job better.

Key features

• Double-sided foam tape for permanent mounting
• White, 0.75 inch wide and 60 inches long
• Stated holding capacity: up to 2 pounds
• Suggested uses include crafts, name plates, and signs
• Not recommended for wallpaper, unfinished wood, drywall, plaster, or stucco
• Made in the USA

The dimensions are useful for planning whether the roll suits a particular project, but the description does not specify a surface-preparation method or a removal process. That leaves less guidance for projects where the finish is delicate or where you may want to take the mounted item down later.

When it makes sense

Choose this tape for a modest, lightweight mounting task when a permanent adhesive bond is what you want and the surface is not on the exclusion list. A small sign or name plate is a more fitting use than a heavier decorative piece, and the listed 2-pound limit gives you a clear boundary for deciding whether to look at another solution. For crafts, the 0.75-inch width can also be relevant when you want a strip of foam-backed adhesive rather than a bulky mounting system. Skip it when you need reversibility, when the surface is one of the materials Duck warns against, or when the item’s weight exceeds the stated limit.
