Product description

The stacked, dual-concentric design gives you separate controls for volume and tone while using one pot position, which can help when a pickguard has only two mounting holes. The all-metal knurled surface is intended to make small adjustments easier to grip during a set or while dialing in a sound. This two-set kit is made for metric dual-concentric pots with an 8mm outer shaft and a 6mm inner shaft. Its taller profile and shaft requirements matter, though, so check the controls and available cavity space before choosing it.

Getting the most from it

These knobs are designed for dual-concentric potentiometers, where the inner and outer shafts operate separate controls. That arrangement can suit a compact guitar or bass build: for example, you could adjust volume with one ring and tone with the other without adding another control hole. The product is also described for bass preamp and EQ upgrades, panning, and pickup mixing, provided the wiring uses compatible metric dual-concentric pots.

Each set has a smaller upper knob with a 6mm bore and a lower base knob with an 8mm bore. The upper knob measures 15mm wide and 14.4mm high, the base measures 19.2mm wide and 12mm high. The stacked assembly stands taller than a regular knob, so make sure there is room inside the control cavity as well as above the instrument surface. An Allen wrench is included for installation.

Why it’s worth it

The practical benefit is control density: compared with fitting separate knobs for every function, a concentric setup can keep the control plate less crowded. That is useful on a two-hole pickguard or a custom build where preserving space matters. The knurled metal finish also gives your fingers a textured surface to grip when making adjustments, rather than relying on a smooth knob.

You’ll appreciate it if you’re replacing knobs on a metric dual-concentric setup and want two control functions in a compact footprint. If you prioritize easy visual reading at a glance, note that these knobs have no position indicator dot. The stacked height is another tradeoff, particularly in a shallow cavity. The fit is specified for 8mm outer and 6mm inner shafts, it is not compatible with CTS or standard US imperial potentiometers. That shaft mismatch is the key detail to check on the spec sheet before ordering.

  • Construction: Knurled, all-metal design
  • Limitations: No position indicator dot, taller than standard knobs, not for CTS or US imperial pots

Should you buy it?

Choose this set if your instrument already has compatible metric concentric pots, or your project is built around them, and you want independent controls without using extra mounting positions. It may also make sense for a compact bass preamp or EQ layout where reducing knob clutter is part of the goal. Better avoided if your pots are CTS or another US-standard imperial type, or if your cavity cannot accommodate a taller stacked knob. If you prefer a simpler, shorter control layout with easy-to-read pointer marks, conventional separate knobs may suit your setup better.
