## Description

For hikes, travel days, and outdoor workouts where you want more coverage than standard athletic shorts, these DEVOROPA knee-length hiking shorts combine a lightweight feel with quick-drying, water-resistant fabric. The design also includes a drawstring waist, UPF 50+ fabric, and pockets for small essentials.

They’re aimed at active use, but the same below-the-knee cut can work for casual days when you’d rather have longer shorts.

## Technical details

The fabric is described as lightweight, breathable, quick-drying, and water-resistant. That combination is useful when you’re moving between a warm trail and a rest stop, or want clothing that dries faster after getting damp. Water resistance can help with light moisture and spills, but it isn’t the same as waterproof protection for sustained rain.

The fabric has a UPF 50+ rating to help protect skin from the sun. The shorts have three pockets: two at the sides and one on the thigh. They’re intended to help keep items such as cards, keys, and a cell phone from falling out during activity, though pocket fit will depend on the item. An adjustable drawstring lets you change the waist fit, there’s no sizing or fabric-composition information provided here to help judge fit or feel more precisely.

## Getting the most from it

These shorts make sense for hiking, camping, fishing, biking, workouts, and everyday casual wear. Picture a trail outing where you want your phone and keys close by, but prefer longer coverage than running shorts offer. The thigh pocket gives you another place to separate a small item from what’s in the side pockets.

Compared with basic casual shorts, the quick-drying fabric and sun-protection rating are geared toward time outdoors. Compared with specialized rain gear, though, the water-resistant finish has a narrower role. A solid pick if you want knee-length coverage, a customizable waist, and pockets for routine outdoor essentials. It might not be a great match if you need waterproof protection or want detailed sizing and fabric specifications before choosing. The stated features are clear, but without having tried it, comfort and pocket security in motion can’t be confirmed.

## Usage tips

Use the drawstring to adjust the waist before a hike or workout, especially if you’ll be carrying small items in the pockets. For a walk on a sunny day, the UPF 50+ fabric adds a helpful layer of coverage, but the product description doesn’t say it replaces other sun-protection measures. If rain is expected to last, choose clothing specifically described as waterproof rather than relying on water resistance.

## Before you decide

**Are these shorts designed for hiking?** Yes. Hiking is among the listed uses, along with camping, fishing, biking, and workouts.

**How many pockets are included?** Three: two side pockets and one thigh pocket.

**Can the waist be adjusted?** Yes. The drawstring is designed to let you customize the waist fit.

## Final verdict

Choose these if knee-length coverage, quick-drying fabric, UPF 50+ protection, and a drawstring waist match the way you spend time outdoors. Skip them if your main need is waterproof performance or you need exact fabric and sizing details to make a decision.
