Dazzber Martingale Dog Collar, Extra Large

On walks with a dog who can back out of a regular collar, a martingale design is meant to give you a more secure way to maintain control. The Dazzber is a wide, extra-large nylon collar with a limited-slip closure, intended for medium to extra-large dogs. Its 1.5-inch band and pink-and-gray stripe make it more substantial than a basic narrow collar, but the fit matters as much as the design.

Key points

This collar is made from 1200D nylon described as 3.8 mm thick, with aluminum and stainless steel hardware. The martingale loop tightens when tension is applied, while its limited closure is designed to keep it from tightening without limit. That makes the setup relevant for dogs that are prone to slipping out during a walk, it is not a guarantee against escape or a substitute for handling a dog securely.

One detail that affects everyday use: there is no buckle. The collar has to pass over the dog’s head, so its neck measurement and the fit around the head both matter when deciding whether this style will work. Keep in mind that the listed neck range is 20 to 31 inches, and the maker recommends leaving room for two fingers between the collar and the neck.

Best use cases

The wide band and extra-large sizing are aimed at medium-to-extra-large dogs, including strong or energetic dogs that are difficult to keep from backing out of a collar. For example, if a dog starts to reverse toward the end of the leash on a busy sidewalk, the martingale action is intended to help keep the collar from sliding off. The two-color stripe adds a visible pink-and-gray look without changing how the collar works.

A narrower, simpler collar may make more sense if you want a buckle for quick on-and-off, or if your dog does not need a limited-slip style. This one prioritizes a broad nylon band and a no-buckle martingale setup instead.

Tips for day-to-day use

Measure your dog’s neck before choosing the extra-large size, and check that the collar can fit over the head as well as sit correctly at the neck. Once it is on, follow the two-finger fit guidance rather than leaving it loose enough to catch or chew. The collar’s tightening action is designed to limit slipping, but it still needs to be fitted correctly, too loose can undermine the intended security, while a poor fit can be uncomfortable.

For an ordinary leash walk, check the collar’s position before heading out and make sure the hardware is connected as intended. From the way it is set up, this is a control-focused walking collar, not a decorative everyday collar with a quick-release buckle. If you need fast removal or prefer a fastening buckle, that difference is worth weighing before choosing it.

Before you decide

What neck size is the extra-large collar listed for? The listed range is 20 to 31 inches. Measure before ordering and follow the two-finger fitting guidance.

Does it have a buckle? No. The product description specifies a martingale style without a buckle, so it must be put on over the dog’s head.

What is it made of? The band is 1200D nylon, described as 3.8 mm thick, with aluminum and stainless steel hardware.

When it makes sense

A solid pick if you want a wide, no-buckle martingale collar for a medium-to-extra-large dog that tends to slip out of a standard collar. It might not be a great match if your priority is quick release, a narrow band, or a collar that does not tighten under leash tension. Choose it for the specific fit and control approach, not just the stripe or heavy-duty wording.
