## Description

Measuring 7.5 x 2 x 5.5 inches, the Dan&Darci Root Viewer Kit brings indoor gardening into a compact, see-through planter. Kids can watch roots develop below the soil while tending spring onion and cilantro seeds, turning a small planting project into a hands-on introduction to botany.

The kit pairs growing with observation: children can personalize the planter with stickers and track plant depth with included stickers. Its illustrated instruction booklet guides the activity with clear steps and educational content.

## Who it’s for
This kit is designed for children ages 4–8 who enjoy nature, crafts, or hands-on science activities. It gives a young gardener a simple project to follow indoors, with visible roots that make an otherwise hidden part of plant growth easier to observe. Families can use it as a shared activity: set up the seeds together, then check the planter and record changes as the plants grow.

For a child who is curious about what happens beneath the soil, the transparent design offers a different experience from planting seeds in an ordinary opaque pot. The included depth-tracking stickers also give kids a way to make observation part of the activity rather than simply waiting for sprouts.

## Why it makes sense
The kit brings the main parts of a small growing activity together: a clear planter with lid, nutrient-rich soil, spring onion and cilantro seeds, stickers, and an instruction guide. That makes it easy to move from setup to caring for the plants without needing to create a separate craft or science project. The booklet adds context about botany, while the see-through box lets children connect what they read with the roots they can observe.

How can a planting project keep a child engaged after sowing? The viewer makes progress visible underground, and the tracking stickers invite children to check and record what they notice. Buyers often describe the kit as educational and easy to use, and praise the clarity of its instructions. Feedback on sprouting is mixed, however, with some purchasers reporting that seeds did not grow, seed availability and expectations about the kit’s compact size also come up in customer comments.
