## Description

Double-layer polyethylene walls create an insulating air cavity, helping this heated cat house offer outdoor cats a more sheltered place to rest. The elevated base keeps the shelter off the ground, while a waterproof heating pad adds warmth for cold-weather use.

A weatherproof awning and transparent PVC door curtain help shield the interior from rain. The clear escape-door window also lets cats see outside while they shelter indoors.

At 17.7 x 17 x 17.5 inches, the Dahivs PL4040 is designed for outdoor cats, including feral, community, and barn cats. Its white-and-gray PE construction suits patios, porches, garages, gardens, and barns.

## Best use cases

Place the shelter in an outdoor area where a cat needs a protected resting spot, such as a porch, backyard, balcony, or barn. The raised design separates the house from cold, wet ground, and the awning and door curtain help keep rain from entering. For a community-cat feeding area or a barn used by outdoor cats, the heating pad and insulated walls provide a dedicated place to retreat during cold weather.

The exit-only escape door gives cats another way out if they need to leave quickly. Its clear window preserves visibility from inside, so the shelter provides cover without making the entrance feel fully closed off. For customers choosing between a basic unheated shelter and a heated model, this house combines an insulated PE structure with a heating pad in one outdoor cat shelter.

## Where it shines

The practical advantage is how its features work together: the double-layer walls help slow heat transfer, the heating pad supplies warmth, and the raised base and rain-shedding details create a more sheltered resting area outdoors. The clear escape-door window lets a cat look outside, while the exit-only opening offers a second route out. Grooves in the roof and matching sections on the base allow the houses to stack into a multi-story arrangement, a useful option for organizing a space used by more than one cat.

Assembly instructions are included, and the house is designed for straightforward assembly. Buyer feedback commonly highlights ease of assembly, warmth, outdoor usefulness, and durability. Opinions about the escape door are mixed: some buyers like how it opens from inside, while others raise concerns about the door flap. These are useful points to weigh when deciding how the entrance suits the cats and location where you plan to place it.

## Final verdict

A solid pick if you need a heated outdoor retreat for feral, barn, or other outdoor cats and want insulation, a raised base, and weather-sheltering details in one compact house. Its 17.7 x 17 x 17.5-inch footprint gives you a defined place to set up warmth and cover on a patio, porch, or in a barn, while the escape door adds a practical exit route for cats using the shelter.
