Cool Toner 148A Black Toner Cartridge, 2-Pack with Chip, 2,900-Page Yield

Choosing toner for routine office printing often comes down to whether you need one replacement or a ready-to-use pair. This Cool Toner 148A two-pack supplies black toner for listed HP LaserJet Pro printers, with a chip already installed in each cartridge and a stated yield of 2,900 pages per cartridge at 5% coverage.

For everyday documents, the black laser toner format keeps the focus on text and monochrome printing. It’s a compatible alternative for supported printer models, rather than an HP-branded cartridge.

Getting the most from it

Use these cartridges with the compatible HP LaserJet Pro models listed below for printing on plain paper. The built-in chip means there is no need to transfer the chip from an old 148A cartridge. With two cartridges in the pack, you have a replacement ready for a later change as well as the cartridge you install first.

The stated yield is 2,900 pages for each cartridge, based on 5% page coverage on Letter/A4 paper. Actual page counts depend on how much of each page is covered with toner, so this figure is most useful as a reference for planning regular document printing. For a home office or workgroup that primarily prints black text, the two-pack provides a straightforward way to replenish toner for a compatible printer.

What stands out

The key practical detail is the preinstalled chip: each cartridge is supplied with its chip in place, avoiding a chip-transfer step during replacement. The two-cartridge format also suits buyers planning for more than one replacement, while the stated page yield gives a clear point of reference when comparing compatible toner options. Choose this approach when you want a compatible two-pack for one of the listed LaserJet Pro models, a manufacturer-branded cartridge is a different purchasing route.

Buyer feedback commonly highlights straightforward installation and clean black printing, including comments about dark, deep blacks. Experiences with printer compatibility are mixed, so match the printer’s exact model number to the supported list before choosing a cartridge. The listed models include both the Pro 4001 series and MFP 4101 series, with specific suffixes shown in the spec sheet.

Final verdict

This Cool Toner 148A two-pack is designed for people replenishing black toner in a supported HP LaserJet Pro 4001 or MFP 4101 printer.
