## Description

This smoothing shampoo from Colorproof is formulated to tame frizz and protect color-treated hair while delivering hydration and gentle cleansing. It targets unruly, humidity-prone locks and combines ingredients such as sea kelp, shea butter, and avocado oil to add manageability and shine for everyday styling.

## Key Points

This Colorproof Smooth Shampoo gently cleanses without sulfates and focuses on reducing frizz while preserving color vibrancy. The formula includes proteins and antioxidants in an Advanced Color Last System that, according to the manufacturer, helps shield color-treated hair from fading due to sun and environmental exposure. It also aims to strengthen hair and improve flexibility to reduce breakage.

## Technical Specifications

- Name: **Colorproof Smooth Shampoo 32 Fl. Oz.**
- Size: 32 fl oz
- Scent: White tea
- Sulfate free: Yes
- Key actives: sea kelp, shea butter, avocado oil

## Benefits

The presence of sea kelp supplies vitamins and minerals that contribute to hydration and resilience, helping hair feel softer and more flexible. Shea butter adds moisture and helps smooth the cuticle, increasing shine and reducing the visual impact of split ends. Avocado oil delivers fatty acids and nutrients that support hair strength and manageability. Together these ingredients address both styling needs and color care.

## Usage Recommendations

Apply to wet hair and massage to create a rich lather that cleanses while depositing conditioning agents. Rinse thoroughly and follow with a compatible conditioner or the matching smoothing conditioner for enhanced frizz control and color protection. Consider using a heat protectant before thermal styling for additional defense against environmental and styling stress.

## Nuances and Limitations

While the sulfate free formula is gentler on color-treated hair, users with very oily scalps may find they need to adjust frequency of washing. The manufacturer notes the color protection benefits are part of the Advanced Color Last System, and environmental factors like prolonged sun exposure can still affect dye longevity.
