CMF by Nothing wireless earbuds Buds 2a

Commuters, gym-goers, and people who take calls away from a quiet desk may find the CMF Buds 2a worth a closer look. They combine hybrid noise cancellation with a transparency mode for switching between a quieter listen and more awareness of what’s around you.

The 12.4mm Bio-fiber drivers and Ultra Bass Technology 2.0 are aimed at listeners who like bass-forward sound. Dirac sound tuning and custom EQ controls in the Nothing X app offer some room to adjust the result.

There’s more here than music playback: the earbuds have four microphones, wind-noise reduction, and an IP54 rating. That makes them more suited to everyday movement than a basic pair intended mainly for use at home, though the description doesn’t establish how they’ll fit every ear.

Size & fit

The product description calls the design ergonomic and says its dual-texture finish is meant to help the earbuds stay secure during workouts. It does not provide ear-tip sizes or specific fit measurements. If you need a precise fit, you’d be choosing without that measurement, so comfort may come down to how the shape works for your ears.

For a practical example, these could suit a walk where you start with ANC on, then switch to Transparency Mode when you need to pay attention to nearby activity. The case is described as lanyard-ready, which may also be handy for keeping it accessible outdoors. IP54 is stated, along with resistance to sweat, rain, and dust, that’s useful context for exercise, but it isn’t a reason to treat the earbuds as fully waterproof.

Pros

• Hybrid ANC is rated at 42dB, with the description specifying noise reduction up to 2900Hz.
• Transparency Mode gives you another listening option when you want more awareness of your surroundings.
• Four microphones, Clear Voice Technology, and Wind Noise Reduction 2.0 are designed to support calls in noisier places.
• Battery life is listed as up to 8 hours per charge and 35.5 hours with the case. A 10-minute charge is stated to provide 5.5 hours without ANC.
• The Nothing X app offers ANC adjustments, custom EQ profiles, and Low Latency Mode.

That feature mix gives the Buds 2a a broader use case than earbuds focused only on passive listening. But shoppers who want detailed fit guidance, or who need a more demanding level of water protection, may prefer to compare options with clearer specifications for those needs.

Should you buy it?

It’s a great fit if you want one set of earbuds for commuting, workouts, and calls, and you value adjustable ANC, a bass-focused sound profile, and app controls. The listed battery life and quick-charge claim may also appeal if you often leave home without planning a long recharge.

It may not suit you if a known ear-tip fit, stronger water protection, or a less bass-forward tuning is your priority. The description doesn’t give fit measurements or detailed sound-control limits, so choose these for their stated everyday features rather than assuming they’ll meet a specialized listening or workout requirement.
