## Description

Choosing a power strip for a workshop is different from adding a few outlets at a desk: cord construction, mounting, and protection features can matter as much as outlet count. The CCCEI CC20A-08-01 combines eight outlets with a 12-gauge, 6-ft cord and a wall-mountable design.

It is listed for 125 volts and a maximum current of 20 A, with surge protection rated at 4,800 joules. An on/off switch, indicator light, reset, and overload and grounding protection are also specified.

Could that setup suit a garage or workbench? Its features point toward organizing several compatible devices in a fixed work area, rather than choosing a strip solely for occasional desk use.

## Usage tips

The 6-ft cord gives you a defined reach, so consider where the strip will sit in relation to the outlet and the equipment you plan to connect. Its wall-mountable design can help keep the strip accessible in a workshop or garage, the listed dimensions are 16 × 2.6 × 1.57 inches. The listing does not say that mounting hardware is included.

Use the switch and reset as part of the setup, and keep the stated protections in mind without treating them as permission to overload the strip. The product information specifically says not to overload it. It also advises protecting the unit if used outdoors, so it should not be treated as an outdoor-ready strip.

## Where it shines

The eight outlets and high-amp cord make this model relevant when a work area needs several power connections in one place. Compared with a basic strip focused on a small number of everyday devices, its wall-mountable format and listed surge protection are more directly suited to a garage or workshop setup. Buyers also describe it as sturdy and reliable, and mention using it with different kinds of equipment, those reports are impressions, not a guarantee of performance with every load.

You’ll appreciate it if you want multiple outlets, a longer heavy-duty cord, and a switch in a stationary work area. Check that the plug and electrical setup match your devices and intended use, especially when connecting equipment with substantial power demands.

## Buying verdict

The CCCEI CC20A-08-01 is worth considering when the priority is consolidating several connections in a garage or workshop, with a mountable body, 12-gauge cord, and specified surge protection. Its listed plug is Type B, 3-prong, so the intended outlet and connected equipment need to be compatible. Better avoided if you need a strip to leave exposed outdoors, the product information calls for protection in outdoor use.
