## Description

If your priority is protecting a duvet insert while changing the look of your bed, a removable cover is a different approach from washing the entire comforter. This California Design Den set pairs a beige paisley print with cotton sateen.

The set includes a duvet cover and two pillow shams. The cover has button closures and four interior ties to help hold an insert in place.

Before choosing, measure your insert rather than relying on the word “king” alone. Duvet and comforter dimensions are not standardized, and that’s the detail most likely to affect fit.

## Quick sizing guide

The duvet cover measures 106" W x 90" L. The two pillow shams measure 21" W x 37" L and have envelope closures. Compare those dimensions with your duvet insert and pillows before ordering, a king label by itself does not guarantee a close fit.

For everyday use, the cover can help keep spills and stains off the insert, while letting you wash the fabric cover at home. Picture making the bed in the morning: tuck the insert’s corners into the four ties, button the opening, and finish with the matching shams. The ties are useful for keeping the insert from shifting, though they do not replace checking that its dimensions suit the cover.

## Pros

The fabric is 100% cotton sateen with a 400 thread count, and the beige paisley pattern adds a defined print without relying on a solid-color look. The sateen is described as having a sheen and minimal wrinkling, which may appeal if you like bedding that looks crisp. The cover and shams are machine washable and dryable at home, and the shams use envelope closures rather than buttons.

The set is backed by the Good Housekeeping Seal, and the product description also notes a 2025 GH Best Bedding award. It carries the OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 label, described as having passed tests for harmful substances. You’ll appreciate it if you want a coordinated cover-and-sham set with cotton fabric and a washable outer layer.

## Spec sheet

- **Set:** Duvet cover and two pillow shams
- **Cover size:** 106" W x 90" L
- **Sham size:** 21" W x 37" L each
- **Material:** 100% cotton sateen
- **Thread count:** 400
- **Closures:** Buttons on the cover, envelope closures on the shams
- **Insert attachment:** Four internal ties
- **Care:** Machine washable and dryable
- **Pattern:** Paisley beige

The listing notes that thread count may vary by ±5% due to standard manufacturing limits. On the spec sheet, the dimensions are more useful for deciding fit than the king-size label, since insert sizing varies between products.

## When it makes sense

This set makes sense if you want to refresh the bed’s appearance without replacing the duvet insert, and you’re comfortable measuring before buying. Compared with a one-piece comforter, a duvet cover gives you a removable layer to wash separately, in return, you’ll need to put the insert back inside and secure its corners when changing bedding.

It’s not for you if you need a set that includes a listed duvet insert, or if you don’t want to deal with matching insert dimensions and making a cover. If the measurements suit your bedding, the cotton sateen, printed finish, ties, and home-wash care make this a practical choice for a bedroom where the cover will see regular use.
