## Description

The lights give this 37-key kids’ keyboard an immediate visual hook: they illuminate as a child plays, making it easier to connect pressing a key with making a sound. It also combines instrument tones, rhythms, animal sounds, and a working microphone, so a toddler can switch between trying notes and making up a little performance. Stickers above the keys offer a simple prompt for following along, while the included stand and stool create a dedicated spot to play. The overall dimensions are 11 inches long, 24 inches wide, and 24 inches high, and it is recommended for ages 3 and up.

## Getting the most from it

For a first try, a child can follow the stickers above the keys, then experiment with the illuminated keys and different instrument sounds. There are eight instrument sounds, including piano and violin, plus eight demo modes with rhythms such as slow rock, disco, blues, and samba. Five drum sounds and four animal-sound buttons add more ways to play, the animal choices are cat, dog, frog, and bird. Volume and tempo controls let a child change the feel of a session, and playback provides a way to listen to a musical idea again.

The microphone can make a living-room sing-along feel like a show, while the stand and stool give the child a place to sit and reach the keyboard. You’ll appreciate it if you want a toy that invites short bursts of hands-on musical play rather than just listening to recorded songs. For example, a child might follow a few sticker-guided keys, switch to a rhythm, and sing into the microphone before replaying the result.

## Why it’s worth it

This set brings several play modes together in one kid-focused instrument: lights, keys, demo rhythms, sound effects, a microphone, and a seat. That variety can help keep a beginner curious when simply pressing piano keys stops being enough. If you prioritize playful features and easy experimentation, this format has more to explore than a basic keyboard with only keys and a single tone. If you prefer a more demanding setup for structured instrument lessons, a 37-key toy keyboard is a more limited starting point than a dedicated instrument.

## Worth noting

The keyboard is aimed at young beginners, not at covering every need as a child’s musical skills grow. Its 37 keys set a clear limit on the range available, so older children or players working on more advanced pieces may outgrow the format. The maker recommends it for ages 3 and up, but an adult may still want to help a younger child explore the controls and keep the microphone and stool together between play sessions. The listed details do not specify a power source or headphone connection, so those features should not be assumed. The overall footprint is also worth considering: at 24 inches wide and 24 inches high, it needs a little space for the keyboard and its stand.

## Buying verdict

This Best Choice Products keyboard makes sense as a first music toy for a young child who is drawn to lights, sound effects, and pretend performances as much as to learning notes. Its stickers, multiple sound options, and included stool give a beginner several ways to engage without needing to start with formal lessons. It may not suit you if the goal is a long-term instrument for lessons, a broader keyboard range, or features such as headphone use that are not specified here. For casual, playful music-making at home, its mix of guided prompts and room for improvising is the main reason to choose it.
