## Description

## What it is and the need it solves
The Bawmwim Surge Protector Power Strip is a multi-outlet power extension designed to consolidate power sources in homes, dorms, or small offices. With 8 AC outlets and 6 USB charging ports, it aims to reduce cable clutter while providing enough headroom for everyday devices like phones, tablets, laptops, and accessories. The wide range voltage design (100V–240V) adds flexibility across different regions and setups.

## What stands out in use
A major practical design choice is the two extra-wide 2.2-inch outlets alongside six standard 1.2-inch outlets. This layout helps accommodate bulky adapters without blocking neighboring outlets. The 6ft flat extension cord and 0.53-inch-thick flat plug with a 45-degree angle make it easier to position the strip under desks or against walls without protruding cables.

## Safety and protection you can rely on
The unit includes an 8-point safety system and is ETL listed, with overload protection that trips the switch to safeguard connected devices. It operates within a safe power envelope of up to 1850W (15A) and 1850 Joules of surge protection, which is adequate for most everyday home and campus setups. A red indicator light confirms normal operation, and a trip mechanism helps prevent overheating or damage when power demands spike.

## What works well for whom
If you have a mix of USB devices (phones, earbuds, tablets) and traditional plug-in gear (laptops, game consoles, monitors), this strip can simplify charging and power management in a single location. It’s practical for a dorm room, home office, or a shared living space where outlets are at a premium and desk space matters.

## Limitations and when it may fall short
This isn’t a high-end, heavy-duty power solution designed for power-hungry equipment in a professional studio or a server rack. If you frequently run devices near the device’s 1850W limit, you’ll want to monitor loading and distribute power across outlets. Also, while the USB-C ports are convenient, charging speed depends on the device and the current supply limits of the strip—real-world speeds may vary.

## What to check before buying
- Confirm you’ll be using within the 100V–240V range and that the total connected load stays under 1850W.
- Consider the placement: the 6ft cord is helpful, and the 45-degree plug should fit snugly in tight spaces.
- If you rely heavily on bulky adaptors, the 2.2-inch outlet spacing is a key advantage, ensure your devices fit comfortably.
- Verify installation needs: wall-mount capability offers flexibility for desk or wall placement.

## Practical use case and everyday advantages
Imagine a study desk where a laptop, monitor, charger, and a wireless headset dock all need power. The Bawmwim strip can host most of those plugs in its two wide and six standard outlets, while the USB ports keep smartphones and tablets charged without juggling adapters. In real use, you’ll likely notice fewer trips around the power strip to find open outlets and less cable chaos on your surface.

## Final buying decisionIs it worth it?
This surge protector makes sense if you want a single, versatile extension with both AC outlets and USB charging at a sensible price point, plus the security of overload protection and ETL listing. It’s a solid middle-ground option for students, home offices, or shared living spaces where a compact, organized power hub is valuable. It may not be the best choice if your setup regularly approaches the 1850W limit or you need more specialized surge protection features or higher-speed USB charging on multiple devices.

## FAQ
- How many USB ports are there and what are their outputs?
The unit offers 6 USB ports total, with 4 USB-A and 2 USB-C, each wired for up to 3.1A output per port.
- Is it safe for use around a dorm or apartment?
Yes, it’s ETL certified and includes overload and surge protection, plus a red activity light to indicate status. Always ensure total load stays under 1850W.
- Can I mount it on the wall?
Yes, it includes two mounting holes for wall or desk installation, adding to its versatility in small spaces.
