## Description

Dogs that need protection from licking or biting a wound, stitches, or skin need a recovery collar that fits securely while allowing comfortable movement. The AThooDel inflatable dog cone combines a cushioned donut collar with a detachable transparent shield for added coverage.

Its soft, padded design gives your dog a place to rest their head, while the clear shield preserves visibility. The Watermelon color and size L make this a specific choice for dogs with a 14–18-inch neck.

Compared with a traditional rigid plastic cone, this design pairs a soft inflatable collar with a shield that can be removed. It suits recovery routines where cushioning and added protection are both priorities.

## How to use it

Measure your dog’s neck and use the size guide to select a fit that keeps the wound protected. The cone should extend past your dog’s snout to help prevent access to the affected area. Adjust the hook-and-loop strap at the opening, then thread your dog’s everyday collar through the inner loops to help keep the cone in place. Position the opening or strap at the back of the neck to reduce access through the gap.

Inflate the collar with the included air pump until it holds its shape, aiming for about 80–90% inflation rather than making it overly firm. Attach the transparent shield when extra coverage is needed. Supervise your dog while wearing the collar, especially during the initial adjustment, and check that the fit does not interfere with breathing. Trimming nails or using socks can help reduce the chance of punctures from scratching.

## What you’ll notice day to day

The cushioned collar is designed to let dogs rest their heads and move around with visibility, while the detachable clear shield adds a barrier against licking or biting wounds, sutures, or skin. This combination can be useful after surgery, including spaying or neutering, and during recovery from minor injuries. The shield uses a hook-and-loop closure, and the adjustable opening helps tailor the fit around the neck.

Buyers describe the donut section as comfortable for resting and often appreciate its ability to discourage licking, including around a dog’s paws. Some also report that it stays in place, while fit feedback is mixed, a few mention that the loops can be narrow for their dog’s regular collar. Checking the neck measurement and securing the everyday collar through the inner loops are practical steps when fitting it.

## Final verdict

For dog owners seeking a softer alternative to a rigid cone, the AThooDel L offers a padded inflatable collar, an adjustable fit, and a detachable transparent shield in one recovery design. Its 14–18-inch neck range makes it a focused option for post-surgery care or wound protection when the dog’s measurements and the shield’s coverage suit the area being protected.
