## Description

Choosing a tank filter often comes down to what you want it to do: capture everyday debris, help address green water, or improve water movement. The AquaMiracle SV-800 combines these functions in one filter for aquariums from 20 to 70 gallons.

Its sponge traps uneaten food, fish waste, and plant debris, while the built-in UV light targets free-floating algae. The result is a filtration setup designed to support clearer-looking water as part of regular aquarium care.

Would you rather have gentle surface movement or added aeration? The SV-800 lets you choose between rainfall and aerating modes, and its timer gives you set periods for the UV light.

## Key specifications

- Model: SV-800
- Aquarium size: 20–70 gallons
- Power: 8W
- Maximum flow: 225 GPH
- UV light: 6W, with 4-, 8-, 12-, and 24-hour timer settings
- Modes: Aeration with adjustable airflow, or rainfall through a spray bar
- Color: Black

The filter sponge catches solid debris before it builds up in the tank, while the UV light is intended to treat algae suspended in the water. Algae attached to glass or other surfaces needs to be removed manually. A viewing window on the housing makes it easy to see whether the light is operating.

The timer controls the UV light, not the pump. For green-water care, the manufacturer recommends continuous filter operation, visible improvement may take one to two weeks, depending on algae levels and tank conditions. Buyer feedback often calls out water clarity and algae control, while impressions of operating noise vary.

## Practical tips

Choose aerating mode when you want airflow through the adjustable venturi tubing. For a gentler spread of filtered water across the surface, use rainfall mode with the spray bar. These options let you tailor circulation to your tank’s setup without changing the filter’s core role of trapping debris and treating suspended algae.

Rinse the sponge during maintenance to clear captured particles. The filter components can be disassembled for cleaning, and the UV timer can be set to match the light schedule you want. Keep in mind that changing the light timer does not switch the pump on or off.

## Box contents

The package includes the aquarium filter, an aeration kit, a rainfall kit, and a filter sponge. With both output options available, you can set up the filter for aeration or spray-bar circulation according to your aquarium’s needs.

## Should you buy it?

The AquaMiracle SV-800 is a practical fit for aquarium owners who want debris filtration alongside a dedicated way to address green water. Its 20–70-gallon sizing, timed UV light, and two water-movement modes bring those tasks together in one unit. It also suits turtle tanks, with the aeration and rainfall setups offering useful choices for circulation. If your priority is a single filter that combines sponge-based debris capture, UV treatment for floating algae, and adjustable flow options, this model is built around that mix.
