## Description

At 20.5 x 14.75 x 14.38 inches, the [amazon](https://www.amazon.com/-/dp/B0B7M15C9F?tag=globalofertit-20) Basics 355557 is a plastic litter box with a top-entry design, high sides, and a filtered lid. The enclosed layout is intended to help contain scattered litter and spraying while giving cats a more private place to use. Its removable top provides access for scooping and cleaning, and a matching scoop stores on the box.

The box weighs 2.8 pounds and comes in gray. Its entry is on the lid, so the access style is an important part of deciding whether it suits your cat.

## Usage tips
The removable lid makes the litter area accessible for routine scooping and cleaning. The included scoop has onboard storage, which keeps it close to the box between cleanups. Buyers report that the smooth sides and lift-off lid make cleaning straightforward, though experiences with the supplied scoop are mixed: some find it useful, while others do not care for it. If you already prefer a different scoop, the box’s storage feature may still be convenient for keeping that tool nearby.

Because this is a top-entry design, consider how your cat normally gets into a litter box before choosing it. It offers a different approach from an open tray, with a lid and high sides intended to keep litter and mess more contained. The manufacturer also describes the top as filtered, but the listed information does not specify a filter type or replacement schedule.

## Everyday use
For a home where litter tends to spread around an open tray, the high-sided body and top-entry lid are the main reasons to consider this model. Buyers commonly appreciate its ability to contain litter, and some say the removable lid is easy to take off for cleaning. Others value the size and the enclosed design, including households looking to keep dogs from reaching the litter. These are reported experiences rather than a guarantee that every cat will use the box the same way.

Size feedback is generally favorable, but comments also suggest that suitability can vary by cat. The listed dimensions give you a concrete basis for comparing the box with your available floor space and your cat’s current setup. The top-entry format is also a meaningful difference from a basic open pan, it makes sense if you want that more enclosed arrangement and your cat is comfortable entering from above.

## Buying verdict
This Amazon Basics litter box combines high sides, a filtered top, a removable lid, and built-in scoop storage in one covered design. It makes sense if containing litter and keeping the scoop close at hand are priorities, and the top-entry layout fits your cat’s habits. It might not be a great match if your cat needs or strongly prefers a conventional open-entry tray. Buyer feedback on the included scoop is mixed, so treat it as a useful extra rather than the deciding reason to choose the box.
