The Aivituvin AIR12 combines an insulated liner with an enclosed fir-wood shelter for either setting. A large-opening roof and front entrance make the interior easier to reach for cleaning. The removable liner can be machine-washed, giving you a practical way to refresh the space. With weather-resistant roof materials, PVC door flaps, and ventilation openings, this shelter is designed to balance protection with airflow. Its gray finish and classic style suit a backyard or indoor pet area. ## Where it shines The AIR12’s insulating liner uses high-density sponge and fabric with a PVC coating. It creates a cushioned, enclosed space for cats seeking a warmer place to rest, while the removable, machine-washable design makes routine care more manageable. Take the liner out before washing it. For outdoor placement, the fir-wood construction has waterproof paint, and the large-opening asphalt roof is weather-resistant. PVC door flaps help shield the entrance from wind and rain. Three ventilation holes support airflow inside, while the movable floor and roof opening give you access when tidying the shelter. The combination of an insulated interior and accessible roof is useful when choosing between a simple enclosed hideaway and a shelter designed with cleaning and seasonal comfort in mind. Set it up as a dedicated resting spot in a sheltered outdoor area or indoors. ## Key takeaways The shelter measures 20.9 inches deep by 23.6 inches wide by 18.3 inches high. It is described for one to two cats or other small animals, so consider how much shared resting space your pets prefer. Buyer feedback is positive about the shelter’s appeal to cats and its sturdy feel, while opinions on size vary. Some buyers also raise concerns about the wood chipping or cracking, so choosing a suitable placement and handling the wood with care are sensible parts of setup. Assembly uses a screwdriver, and the manufacturer describes the process as taking about 15 minutes. Buyers report mixed assembly experiences, including differing experiences with the pre-drilled holes. The accessible roof, front entrance, and movable floor are useful features once the shelter is in place, especially when you need to reach the interior for cleaning. ## Who it’s for The AIR12 suits cat owners looking for an insulated resting place for a backyard cat, a feral cat, or a small pet. The liner and door flaps make it especially relevant when a sheltered, cozy spot is a priority, the washable liner is a practical detail for households that want to keep the resting area fresh. You’ll appreciate it if you want an enclosed shelter with access points that simplify reaching inside, rather than a basic hideaway with less accessible cleaning. ## Questions before you buy **Can the insulation liner be washed?** Yes. It is removable and machine-washable, so you can take it out to clean separately from the shelter. **How many cats is the shelter intended for?** It is described as suitable for one to two cats or other small animals.
