Acaine FX-LYC-02 Gel Seat Cushion, 18 x 18 x 1.8-Inch, Purple

Set the Acaine FX-LYC-02 on an office chair or car seat to add a broad gel cushion for longer periods of sitting. Its breathable grid and supportive feel make it useful at a desk, behind the wheel, or in a wheelchair.

The 18 x 18 x 1.8-inch cushion has a wide rectangular surface and a purple finish. Its gel construction is designed to distribute body weight and help ease pressure around the back, hips, and tailbone.

A non-slip cover helps keep the cushion in place, while its foldable, portable design makes it easy to move between seating areas.

Best use cases

Use the cushion to add support to an office chair during a workday, or take it along for car rides and other trips where you expect to sit for a while. It is also intended for wheelchairs, recliners, dining chairs, stadium seats, and other seating where a larger cushion is useful. The 18 x 18-inch surface offers more coverage than a compact pad, so compare its footprint with the seat you plan to use it on.

The open gel-grid structure promotes airflow around the seat, while the cushioning is designed to spread pressure across the sitting area. That combination makes it a practical choice for people seeking a more comfortable seating surface during work, travel, or everyday use. The cushion is listed to support up to 300 pounds.

What stands out

The cushion combines a soft, resilient gel fill with a firm supporting structure. Its breathable design helps air move through the grid, and the anti-slip feature helps it stay positioned as you sit. The cover is removable and washable, making routine care more convenient. At 2.4 pounds, it can also be carried between a home workspace, vehicle, or other seat.

Customers describe the gel cushion as comfortable and supportive for extended sitting, and some report that it helps with back or hip discomfort. Feedback on thickness and overall size is mixed: some find the cushion substantial and well-sized, while others would prefer more thickness or a larger surface. These perspectives can help you decide whether its listed dimensions suit your seat and comfort preferences.

What matters most

The main choice is whether you want a wide gel cushion rather than a smaller, more localized seat pad. Its 18 x 18-inch rectangular shape is intended to cover a broad sitting area, and the 1.8-inch height adds cushioning without changing the basic way you use a chair. Check the seat’s usable surface against those dimensions when choosing where to place it.

The fill is thermoplastic elastomer, and the fabric type is polyester. The cushion is described as soft yet supportive, with a wavy grid pattern that lets air circulate through the gel structure. Its purple color gives it a distinct look among neutral chair accessories.

When it makes sense

It suits you if you want one portable cushion for several seating settings, such as a desk chair by day and a car seat or recliner at other times. The wide format is especially relevant when you want coverage across more of the seat, while the breathable gel grid and supportive construction address comfort during longer sitting sessions. For someone comparing a fixed chair upgrade with a movable cushion, this option brings the cushioning with you from seat to seat. Its washable cover and foldable design add practical value for regular use at home, work, or on the go.
