## Description

## What it is
The Vango Goliath X-Large Padded Camping Chair is a sizeable, padded garden chair designed for outdoor use. Built on a steel frame with soft arms and a padded seat and backrest, it aims to offer a comfortable spot for camping, fishing, picnics or beach days. It features an insulated cup holder to help retain the temperature of drinks and a foldable design for easy storage and portability.

## Who it’s for
This chair is clearly aimed at those who want extra room and extra comfort when sitting outside. With an impressive loading weight of 180kg/28st 4lbs, it suits larger individuals or anyone who prioritises a roomy seating area and supportive arms. If you value a chair that can be easily carried in a compact form when folded, this model’s carry bag and oversized packing materials are a consideration.

## How it feels to use
On the surface, the combination of a padded seat and backrest with a sturdy steel frame suggests a comfortable sit. The soft-arm design may reduce pressure on the forearms during longer periods of sitting. The insulated cup holder is convenient for keeping drinks at temperature for longer, though you’ll want to check whether the insulation meets your expectations in marginal outdoor conditions.

## The good and the not-so-good
What stands out is the oversized, high-capacity design that doesn’t skimp on padding, making it a practical option for longer sessions outdoors. On the other hand, the extra materials and padding will add weight to the folded package, and the chair is not advertised as a compact ultralight option. For shorter trips or where space and weight are critical, this may feel bulky.

## Where it fits in a purchase decision
If you prioritise durability, roomier seating and a chair that can bear heavier use, this model makes sense as a mid-to-upper tier casual outdoor chair. It aligns with a use case that includes garden lounging, campsite seating, fishing days or beach trips where you want comfort and a practical drink holder. It may not be the best fit if you need a grab-and-go seat that packs down very small or if you’re seeking minimal weight.

## What to check before buying
- Ensure the folded package size is suitable for your storage or car boot.
- Consider whether the 180kg weight limit aligns with your expectations for robust outdoor seating.
- Confirm how the insulated cup holder performs with different drinks and temperatures in your typical climate.

## Practical use case
Imagine arriving at a lakeside or beachfront camp, unfolding this chair from its carry bag, and settling into a padded seat with your drink snug in the insulated holder. After a long day, you fold it back up, the steel frame still feeling sturdy, and you carry it back to the car with relative ease.

## Comparison in context
Compared with lighter, more compact chairs, this model prioritises comfort and capacity. If you expect quick, ultra-compact setup for short sessions, a smaller chair might be preferable. If you need a sturdy, comfortable chair for longer stays and larger users, this design offers a sensible balance of padding, support and practicality.

## Is it worth it?
It makes sense if you value a roomy and padded seating option with a solid weight rating and practical extras like an insulated cup holder.

## FAQ
- How heavy is the chair when folded? The base data doesn’t specify the folded weight. It’s built with a steel frame and padding, so expect some heft.
- Will it fit in a compact car boot? It’s foldable with a carry bag, but the oversized design suggests it may not be the smallest option available.
- Is the cup holder suitable for hot drinks? The holder is insulated to maintain temperature, but suitability will depend on cup size and beverage.
