## Description

This portable wireless speaker from Ultimate Ears brings deep, room-filling bass and omnidirectional sound for outdoor gatherings and home listening alike. With adaptive EQ and a robust battery, the EPICBOOM aims to deliver sustained loudness and punchy low end while withstanding splashes and brief immersion, according to the manufacturer.

## Key Points

The EPICBOOM focuses on powerful bass reproduction with a dedicated woofer that reaches high sound pressure levels for stereo low frequencies. It includes an Outdoor mode to help maintain clarity and presence in open spaces. Adaptive EQ lets you tune the output using the BOOM app, where presets such as Podcast Mode and Gaming Mode are available alongside custom adjustments. The speaker is designed to be portable, featuring a carry strap and a range of up to 55 m for wireless connections.

## Technical Specifications

- **Name: Ultimate Ears EPICBOOM**
- Battery life: 17 hours
- Wireless range: 55 m
- Ingress protection: IP67
- Charging: USB-C
- Floatable: Yes

## Benefits

Soundwise, the EPICBOOM offers a strong low-frequency performance that stands out for those who prioritise bass in their playlists. The adaptive equaliser helps balance the heavy bass when clarity is needed for spoken-word content or for gaming. Battery longevity of around 17 hours reduces interruptions during day-long events and beach trips. Durability is an added benefit here, as the IP67 rating covers protection from dust and immersion up to 1 m for 30 minutes, and the floatable design reduces the risk of water damage at poolsides.

## Practical Tips

Use the BOOM app to tailor the EQ before you start a session, and try the Outdoor mode when setting up in parks or on patios to maintain perceived loudness. For multi-speaker setups, PartyUp in the app enables pairing with other BOOM, MEGABOOM and HYPERBOOM models to expand coverage for larger gatherings. Consider that hefty bass may overpower mids on certain tracks, so adjust the EQ for vocal or acoustic material to improve balance. Also note that waterproofing covers immersion for limited periods according to the IP67 rating, and prolonged submersion is not recommended.

The product incorporates recycled plastics in its construction, with a substantial portion of the housing made from post-consumer recycled material according to the manufacturer, which may appeal to users looking for a more sustainable option.
